Sepinwall posted his review on Rolling Stone. It's blocked by subscription only.
Anyways, he hates season 3.
Steve Weintraub from Collider loved it.

He gave it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.
Sometimes I think he just has to be the contrarian.

It's been so long since I've seen S2 I've pretty much forgotten what happened (other than the big fight at the end).

I just finished a rewatch of S1/2, and this time my wife joined me. We're ready for S3.
They had a little promo on Facebook where Johnny (with his mad computer skillz) changes the date from 1/8 to 1/1. lol
BTW, for those of you looking for the movies, if you happen to have them on DVD/Blu you can convert them to digital on Vudu M2D.

I know the writers have said for a while they have the series (and possible spin-offs) planned out, but I don’t recall the number. Macchio says they have planned six seasons:

Guilty of waking up and 4 a.m. and starting this. I don't get hyped like this for much. Almost done with first episode. So far, so good. Mostly S2 fallout stuff. Will be binging through the whole thing and then going back to sleep.

I couldn’t sleep so I just burned through all of S3. What an amazing and wild ride.
If you haven’t seen The Karate Kid Part III, it’s mandatory viewing as it’s referenced even more in the third season than it was in the second. Yes it’s crappy, but you’ll just have to suffer through it.
Waiting for them to have Julie make an appearance next season.

Good God. It was pretty much perfect. All the returning characters, the fights, the emotions. What a show...

I loved all of the references to the past... I can see where the producers have a plan for more seasons. This season was a slow burn for the kids in the beginning and focused more on Johnny, Daniel and even Kreese.
The music from KK2 was perfect for the scenes with Kumiko and Chozen. I'm glad they acknowledge the history between Yukie and Miyagi. Seeing Yuna (Tracy Toguchi) all grown up made me feel fuckin' old.

Great season. The Okinawa stuff was well done and didn’t feel forced. Absolutely loved
I laughed at them bothering to show Larusso’s son in one scene. I guess that kid lost all his baby fat (even though it’s only been a few months within the show).
The Christmas music during the fight in the finale was cool.

Goddamn Perfection...is what I would use to describe the season.
I wanted more Chozen. " You keep for your collection...."

Chozen was great. Kumiko was great. All of the returning characters were great. I may be going in for Round 2 on this season. Loved every second of it.

I wonder if Season 4 will have any changes to production since that will be the first to shoot under Netflix. Maybe a bit of a bigger budget? Longer episodes? Some of these were clocking in around 40 minutes this season, so it is possible they could want to expand to around 40-50 for each.

I'm through 4 episodes and loving it so far. at Johnny's life going straight to shit again.
Daniel's reunion with Kumiko was done so well. I loved the scene where she read Miyagi's letter to Yuki about life with Daniel. That was a really moving moment. Tomita jumped back to playing that character so eloquently.
The callback to Karate Kid II with Rock and Roll over you playing during the soccer scene was very cool.

Really liked the Okinawa story arc, will likely be my fav part of the season. (not finished yet!) Lol Chosen was awesome, that actor I believe owns a Seattle restaurant. (or used to, not sure if it's survived)
I still stand by my criticisms of the show - I wish it took itself a little more seriously, and wasn't all about callbacks and nostalgia...but it is what it is.

The Okinawa arc was really well done. Very pleased to see Chozen and Daniel put the past behind them.
I do appreciate the backstory on Kreese. We knew very little about him in the movies other than him being an asshole and a Vietnam War Vet.

Just watched the whole season today. It's on par with the other seasons. The biggest problem with this season is that it does not appear that door locks exist in the Karate Kid universe or at least none of the characters know how to use them or simply can't be bothered ever locking them.
