Carl Weathers directed this one.

Not a bad episode. Stormtroopers still can't shoot worth shit.

If they never made another SW movie but kept the TV shows going at this quality, I would have zero problems with that.

The child with the cookies had me rolling

This episode seemed ripe to set up a Cara / Greef spinoff.

I half expected the Child to say "I am Groot" at the beginning.

This was the best looking episode this season. The costume work for the Walrus men looked a lot better than the Mon Calamari in the last.

Interesting that they're bringing in midichlorians (if I am to assume that's what the M stood for).

That was a fun episode! CW directed, too! The vomit gag made me laugh out loud.

We're at the halfway point, so I wonder if Disney+ will be release two episodes next week due to the holiday like they did last year?

That was in December last year and had to do with the release of TROS wasn’t it?

Aweeeeesome!

In another Star Wars thread in the movie section, I said my favorite SW scenes are speeder bike scenes. And this episode delivered!

Great chase scene, cute Child reactions, and great to see Carl Weathers and Gina Carano again.

Good episode, not great. I'd rate 1 and 3 as great episodes, 2 and 4 as good/enjoyable. The shortcomings were just more obvious here, the stages, clean looking costumes, etc. and if you're going to make Nevarro a recurring planet, make it more visually interesting - notice how the concept art was bathed in warm light... so much more appealing imo. And why not have a passage of time hinted at in some form? Maybe he stays overnight ,etc that would at least help explain his ship being fixed so fast. Just what I would consider shortcomings in storytelling that are keeping this show from reaching further heights.

The cookie theft and puking had me lol’ing as well.
The speeder bike chase was well done too, it was badass when they took off from the base and dropped down the side of the cliff.

As someone who had no idea WTF was going on last episode as a non-watcher of Clone Wars, this was a really fun and welcome return to the formula that I love

Really fun episode. Great job by Weathers. It was great seeing Cara and Karga again.

Loved the Child's antics in this episode. Trying to plug in the correct wire and then getting electrocuted, then stealing the cookies and then puking in the ship. I  when he raised his arms in the air when Mando's ship rose.

The chase sequence was really well done and directed. Just amazing how this is all shot on virtual sets in Los Angeles and not in Egypt or Tunisia.

The shot of the speeder bikes plunging over the cliff was spectacular.

The "there are no handrails" line had me chuckling -- there's no OSHA in the Empire. .

The Razor Crest rescue left me a little confused. So I assume he jet packed back, picked up The Child and then grabbed his ship. Seems like a fairly tight timeframe.

They sure fixed up the Razor Crest fast!

I was confused about that too and had to rewind to double check. I was like how did Mando get the ship and The Child back so fast to help out in that chase sequence?

Not entirely. At least they partially revealed why the Imperial remnants are still hunting for the child. I assume it was

Spoiler:
a bunch of Snoke clones growing in those tanks (ugh), or at least an experiment in creating Force powerful clones by infusing them with baby Yoda blood. They did show all that dark trooper armor ready to go in the last scene with Moff Gideon.

Eh, regardless of the inconsistent time frame, the Razor Crest showing up to save the day was badass!

I was happy to see Carl Weathers directed this. Good for him.

IMO, this season has been a lot better than S1, which I ended up liking a lot more on second viewing. This season has just been great episode after great episode. I’m also far more interested in where the story is going this season than I was for S1.

Weathers has been directing for past 30 years. I once attended a Directors Guild brunch were he was one of the speakers. He seemed like a pretty cool guy who really appreciated the opportunities he's had. I was hoping he would get one of the episodes and I'm glad to see it happened sooner rather than later.

Episode after episode it’s been clearly shown that the adventures are the main event. The plot is just a way to get from adventure to adventure.

Even the concept of filler is nonsensical in a series where the creative team is literally in control of the fucking budget, scripts, episode count, and length of each episode.

I could be wrong but I thought the reveal was huge and I sort of expect a more serialized second half. People might not love that. I really dig this season.
