Falling Skies. remember that show?
Anyone still remember Falling Skies a decade ago that was on TNT? It had Noah Wylie and Will Patton. The show was basically a homage to War of the Worlds post apocalyptic style. Show was pretty good

Yes. It started out good then got stupid as hell.

Yeah, it started off pretty good and then got progressively worse. Was ok.
Took place in the Boston area so I'm like, "Hey, that's where the Wonder Bread factory was!".

I didn’t realize it had already been five years since it ended. Never watched it but I thought it looked decent for a cable sci-fi series.

I watched it from the first episode all the way to the bitter (and rushed) and stupid end.
... such potential.
Wasted.
but I still enjoyed it (for the most part).

Agreed that it started out good then became fucking horrible. So many annoying characters doing stupid things.

IIRC one of the alien race came to earth many millennia ago but was killed by humans. The reason they attacked earth was because it was the offspring if the alien leader. Basically a vendetta. They way it was done on the show made it hilarious.

Ooof....I gave up on the show when I believe there was at least another 1-2 seasons to go before it ended and for a period of time the show was fantastic. Great cast, some decent special effects...but I think it started to go off the rails for me when I believe the main character made his way onto one of the ships. I never really bothered to finish out the season as eps piled up on my tivo and I believe that based on the posts in the thread that was dedicated to the show at that time that I felt I was not missing much by deleting the show.
The show always had moments that were a bit sluggish but there was a point at which you started to realize that the show had not been mapped out to any sort of conclusion and it does sound like they rushed to wrap things up towards the end.

Off the top of my head, he was in the 1987 movie No Way Out with Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman.

I watched most of the series but bailed before the last season or maybe one before.
I do recall hating both of Noah Wyle's sons and everytime anyone used the word "Skitter" to describe the aliens.

The last couple seasons are laughably terrible. It was obvious Noah Wyle had checked out on the series and was phoning it in by season 3.
