I guess that's a hard pass on Howard's offer to take Saul on at HHM.

Kim's use of Saul in the Mesa Verde case is curious in that she is turning dark versus the straight corporate lawyer pose she one had. Looking to see how this plays out.

"A Man Fucking a Horse" should have been the title of the episode.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was one at one point.

Still, every episode I wonder when Jimmy/Saul will put together enough cash to get rid of that POS car.

Won't Mesa Verde know or learn that Saul is Kim's boyfriend? Seems like she just got herself fired because they'll know she enlisted him to help Maurice from Northern Exposure since she already tried to get them to relocate for the guy.

She's taking a huge risk of Mesa Verde finding out what they are up to. I'm guessing she's trying to convince them to go with the other property that had some flooding issues.

And Howard's job offer to Jimmy seemed like a desperation move. Does he need Jimmy's name at the firm to help the HHM brand or something? Howard just came across as desperate in that lunch meeting.

Since the "Maurice" situation is going to be an arc and not a single episode, I am guessing that this what brings Kim down. Since she's not in Breaking Bad, or even mentioned, it's probably likely she's either dead, in jail, or otherwise out of the picture -- lost license, moved from NM.

I actually thought that Kim would find the old guy dead in his La-Z-Boy from a self-inflicted gunshout when she went back to his house.

I thought Kim was going to quit, in this episode. She's clearly not happy, working with Mesa Verde.

As for the self-inflicted gunshot idea, I expected to hear that shot after the first time we met his character.

Re: Better Call Saul (S5E04) -- "Namaste" -- 3/9/20

Most logical and clean end to Kim's storyline is that she tells Mesa Verde to screw, decides to become a public defender, does not get offered the position in New Mexico and takes one somewhere else (Nebraska?) but Jimmy is essentially forced to stay in NM because of the Cartel and the relationship ends organically like that.

I believe she is alive in the Gene timeline, and I get a feeling Kim will eventually play into that plot too in some way.

Liked the courtroom bit, and OCD to the MAX Gus Fring waiting for a call, but I did not think overall it was the strongest episode. Thought the escape through the sewer thing was a little too contrived, no reasonable expectation he would be able to get there under DEA surveillance.

That character is unsettling in every scene he is in. Love it.

Doesn't seem like its a coincidence that Kim has ties to Nebraska, and that's where Saul wanted Ed to send him.

I didn’t catch that. Is that what she said to “Maurice” last week?
I still don’t think Jimmy ends up with Kim at the end. He’s done way too much wrong to earn a happy ending,(it does look like he got one the night of the bottle throwing though).

Re: Better Call Saul (S5E04) -- "Namaste" -- 3/9/20

Kim could still be around during a lot of the Breaking Bad days. There really wasn't any really reason to see her on the show in the early years in Saul's life since he was a minor character in the beginning.

After recently rewatching BB not too long ago (for the third time), I was kinda surprised how little Saul was even on the show at times. He wasn't truly a major character until much later in BB.

They could run a ton of stuff with Kim concurrently with happenings in BB if they wanted to. I personally think that would be awesome. Showing Jimmy's private life fall apart while all the BB craziness is going on.

Re: Better Call Saul (S5E04) -- "Namaste" -- 3/9/20

Yeah, they could easily run BCS concurrently with the BB storyline.

I'm assuming they probably won't to any large extent, though, because it only has one more season to go and it's kind of a slow burner. It would be really interesting if they could weave several seasons of BCS around the events of BB seasons 2-5, and show those events from the perspectives of Saul, Mike, and Gus.

I suspect the plan is to end BCS somewhere near Saul's introduction in BB, with the "No, it wasn't me. It was Ignacio. He's the one. [...] Lalo didn't send you?" lines explained.

They have done one scene within the BB timeline. That was last season. Maybe they could do them as cold opens for episodes in the final season.

Re: Better Call Saul (S5E04) -- "Namaste" -- 3/9/20

Any reason they are ending it next season? Have they just run out of stories to tell?

I wish Robert Forster hadn't died. I thought his character and situations were fascinating and you could run a whole series on his "job." Prequel as a younger man with a different actor???

Re: Better Call Saul (S5E04) -- "Namaste" -- 3/9/20

This isn't a show that needs to go on a long time. 6 seasons is a good time to end. Not to mention, the show isn't that big in viewership.
