I wonder if Picard is developing Irumodic Syndrome or something similar like in All Good Things.

More like flat out deception. That is my favorite episode of any Trek show though.

It is not a real action figure, but I figure it is the most iconic image of Picard around, so it would make a great one.

I thought this would be the episode with Riker & Troi and the previews for next week don't show them either...is it possible that scene is a set-up for Season 2?

Those who thought Picard wasn't dying at the end of this series...still feel that way? :)

I love the scenes with Stewart, but still have no clue what is going on in that Borg Cube. I lose interest every time Picard is off-screen.

It's funny that everyone caught and is complaining about the admiral using the "f-bomb", but nobody seems to have caught or mentions the Romulan, Laris, saying "Cheeky Fuckers" in the same episode.

It seems like the Vulcan Commodore who is basically the leader of Starfleet is secretly being influenced by the Romulans, whom the Federation have been in a "cold war" with for decades. I wonder if there are any real world situations that the writers are basing this plot from.

Probably because she said "Cheeky Feckers"

("Feck" is an Irish slang term... and apparently a Romulan one too, for some reason)

Didn't love this episode like the first one but still very much a fan of the series so far.

I didn't hear it as "feck" when she said it. but I had always assumed that when they said "feck" it was just "fuck" with an Irish accent. When I watched Father Ted that is what I assumed the old priest was trying to say.

"Commodore Oh" is in fact Romulan posing as a Vulcan. She is part of the Zhat Vash

Came across this today and figured I’d share. Stewart is so incredibly dead pan and funny in this.

Was the Zhat Vash ever mentioned in any other Star Trek series or is this the first time?

I thought Vash was that woman that Picard hooked up with.

I remember. It was the Picard from “Tapestry” limited edition figure. https://www.ebay.com/c/1733815072

Asking price on this bid is $600!

I believe Zhat Vash was created for this series? Not sure if it's come up in other books. That's why Picard's Romulan friends, who are both Tal Shiar said it was a "Secret secret Society"

Her universal translator is set to Irish.

Pretty sure it's new.

Yeah, that confused me when it come up in the subtitles. Wish they would have realized how close that was to the name of Picard's old girlfriend and changed it.

I don't event think I saw the full episode that Vash appears in and I still thought of her when Zhat Vash was brought up. I think Vash was the worst romance Picard had. She played him way too easily. Wouldn't have happened to Kirk. The piano player was a better match for him.

The Talia Shiar/Zhat Vash...still good sounding names for the Romulan KGB.

So Picard has spent 20 years mourning the "death" of an artificial human, but what about all the actual living crew members that died under his command? Guess Tasha Yar's death didn't bother him too much. Or the death of his family in a fire.

Ever since Nemesis, they wanted to make Picard and Data the new Kirk and Spock. I think it's weird that he's obsessed with Data from the start, but I see why the producers are going that route.

Tasha died in the line of duty.

The death of Picard’s family was a tragic accident.

Data knowingly sacrificed himself to save Picard. That’s survivor’s guilt.

Ever since Nemesis? There's been nothing new with since Nemesis regarding Data and Picard until this new series.

Okay. Nemesis started it. Picard is continuing it.

This. Picard wasn't close to Data during TNG's run though we didn't really get to see what changes Picard made in his relationships post "all good things." The sacrifice Data made is what's causing all of Picard's grief.

Picard's admiration for Data was evident in "Measure of a Man", and ever since their trip to Romulus to find Spock, Data and Picard became closer. It was never made apparent on the show for obvious reasons, but there was always a clear subtext that the two had become clandestine lovers. Picard is still reeling from the loss of his longtime companion.
