dex14, great to hear as it has been a fun show to watch. As someone already noted in this thread the chemistry between the two leads really makes the show work. They’re digging in the wrong place, wonderful Raiders Of The Lost Ark pop culture reference.

This show looks phenomenal in broadcast HD if you turn on motion interpolation for the soap opera effect.

I like the show but think the "Reese is the mastermind" turn is a cheap red herring. It makes no sense. The obvious choice will be Dr Castillo , who was left alive after the attack. Also I though Oded Fehr' death was anticlimactic considering all the build up. I'm guessing he and the Dr will be linked.

So now I have to watch this on CBS All-Access. I have DirecTV and this past week's episode didn't record due to the blackout and there's 2 more episodes left this season.

I'm currently on episode 10 and having a great time with it.

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I'm all caught up as of last night.

I was a little surprised they hinted that:

Spoiler:
John Larroquette's character

could actually be the mastermind.

There had to be a secondary villain as they killed off the main one who was the subject of the first 9 episodes.

This show was a pleasant surprise. Just fun and well done. And I did not see the twist coming about the real puppet master. Kudos to the producers for having a complete story with no cliffhangers just in case it didn’t come back. I will look forward to it next summer.

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I came in ready to hate this show but I took to it right from the start. It knew what it was right from the beginning, a fun summer romp. Red herrings, twists and turns, knowing winks to touchstones the audience would be comparing the show to which were played up right to the end with that great "He wouldn't"/"She would" Die Hard nod.

It was cheesy and fun and I always had a big dumb smile on my face watching this show. Bring on a Blu ray/4K release!

And I agree with Kdogg, thanks to the producers for not ending the show with a cliffhanger that will never be resolved. I look forward to seeing Danny, Lexi, Shaw, Gwen and Father Chuck again next summer.

I don't even remember that I quit this show. Hmmm, that's a first.

Season 2 was supposed to air summer 2020, but Covid derailed it. Probably unlikely this gets a third season. The lead Matt Barr signed on to a new show for next season.

Well, that's good and bad news: I would have gladly watched a second season on CBS, but there's no way I'm paying to watch this anywhere.

I've used 3 free trials of Paramount+ (using one account) in the past year.

Fortunately, you won't have to pay if you search for discounts

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

This show has been on my mind lately, in that I loved it and was aware it was supposed to have been picked up for a 2nd season, but just kind-of came to terms that another season was derailed due to Covid. So this thread bump has me going holy cow, great news that it will air this year.

Fortunately, I have Paramount+ but this does limit its audience. Still, I will take what I can get, as the chemistry between the two leads was wonderful.

ETA: I just noticed in the TV Line article that they point out that Matt Barr has already booked a show and is on the Walker Texas Ranger Spin-off coming soon, still....just to get another 13 episodes of this show will be a treat. This, like Fantasy Island, is a perfect summer show (and fortunately, unlike Fantasy Island, it will still air during the Summer). Oh, I see Djariya already pointed out that Matt Barr is already booked on another show.

He’s been on a few things since S2 finished filming. The show is long dead.

Bump

This premieres tonight on Paramount + (12am PT) or for you in the East, early tomorrow at 3am.

2 episodes.

Seems like most in this forum only watch Paramount + for Star Trek, so not sure how many of you are interested. But, I'm looking forward to it even though it's essentially a burn off. Matt Barr is now the lead for Walker Independence on The CW.

I'm interested but will wait to binge S2 when all episodes are available and I can do a free trial. I have no interest in Paramount+ otherwise.

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I just finished the 1st episode. Went by really fast. Fun start to season 2. Good to see Danny, Lexi and Father Chuck back again. Looks like from the season preview that Shaw will be back in episode 2.

Interesting that they killed off John Larroquette's character from season 1 and introduced a daughter that Danny had a past with. I wasn't really surprised by that twist at the end.

I really like the scale of this show. It doesn't feel cheap and shot on sound stages to fake locations. They actually shoot this internationally. It does feel like an Indiana Jones type show. Shame that there doesn't appear to be that much enthusiasm for this here. Season 1 barely had 30+ posts.

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

Someone online asked the co-creator of the series about Matt Barr's status and this show now that he's working on Walking Independence. He's basically saying it's wait and see.

He said in an earlier post that he won't know for sure until Paramount sees how the show is doing via streaming.

Second episode was fun too. I really enjoyed that it took place in Asia. Specifically Hong Kong and Vietnam. Nice to Shaw back.

at Lexi getting her ass kicked in the underground fight.

Season 2 premier was solid. On par with season 1. However, at the end reveal.

I saw CBS is going to air as an encore. Perhaps try to get some eyeballs over to P+.

Do you mean the end of episode 1? Thankfully, that mystery doesn't last beyond Ep2.
