MATT BARR AND SOFIA PERNAS STAR AS A BRILLIANT ANTIQUITIES EXPERT AND A CUNNING ART THIEF WHO TEAM UP TO CATCH A RUTHLESS TERRORIST WHO FUNDS HIS ATTACKS THROUGH STOLEN TREASURE, ON THE TWO-HOUR SERIES PREMIERE OF "BLOOD & TREASURE," TUESDAY, MAY 21

"The Curse of Cleopatra - Parts I and II" - Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas star as a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure, on the special two-hour series premiere of BLOOD & TREASURE, Tuesday, May 21 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Michael James Shaw, Katia Winter, James Callis, Oded Fehr, Alicia Coppola and Mark Gagliardi also star.

BLOOD & TREASURE is a globe-trotting action-adventure drama about a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. Danny McNamara is a former FBI agent specializing in stolen arts and antiquities. Lexi Vaziri is a resourceful art thief who is haunted by the tragic loss of her father, which she blames on Danny. When terrorist Karim Farouk absconds with a priceless artifact and kidnaps Danny's mentor, Dr. Anna Castillo, Danny recruits Lexi to help him bring Farouk to justice and rescue Anna. As they chase down Farouk, they encounter unscrupulous individuals who may either be useful allies or dangerous enemies, including Aiden Shaw, an arms dealer who acts solely in his self-interest, and Simon Hardwick, an expert at procuring pilfered artifacts. Danny and Lexi are assisted by Father Chuck, a childhood friend of Danny's who works at the Vatican Foreign Ministry in Rome. Their hunt draws the attention of Interpol agent Gwen Karlsson, who wants Farouk brought to justice, but won't allow Danny and Lexi to break international laws in the process. As they crisscross the world hunting their target, Danny and Lexi unexpectedly find themselves at the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.

Not familiar with this, but looks like it could be fun. Nice summer viewing. Will likely check out the premier.

I'm guessing this is another "foreign" co-production...?

I love these types of plots. I’ll be tuning in.

Sounded interesting, but then I watched the trailer and I'm out. Looks like a cheesefest.

Tuning in for Oded Fehr (as Yet Another Villain (YAV) it appears).

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I wonder if Oded Fehr gets tired of being type cast as some Middle Eastern guy or villain.

I heard the announcement about this show months ago and it from that trailer it looks like it could be fun. Plus, it appears they shot it in international locations.

Pilot was ok. I enjoyed the second episode more. Overall, it was fun. I’ll stick with it.

Though I was getting tired of the flashbacks.

I remember that title, but never watched it. I think the title was such a turn off, I had no idea it was about treasure hunting haha

I liked "Hooten and the Lady." It was a fun show. I recorded "Blood and Treasure", but have not watched it yet.

Hooten & the Lady was an entertaining show in this genre. I wish it had stayed on the air.

I haven't caught this yet but from the commercials that play during Colbert, they could just title this "Sassy & Sassy." Man, do they snipe at each other in the cutest ways!

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

Watched the pilot last night. It was good, but something didn’t click to make it completely jump out. Maybe it needs to find its legs more. I mean, production values were good, chemistry is great, locations were legit. And even Nazi’s! It definitely had a modern Indiana Jones feel.

Maybe the lead actor is what was holding it back for me. He was good, but felt a bit flat. The Shaw character was great though. Would love it if he sticks around and pops up from time to time.

Nice wrinkle at the end with the third party reveal though.

Will check out more, but hope it improves a little.

Not sure on this but she was on Elementary for a few years (and had a cameo of ep1 of this season) as his protege, Kitty.

Also thought HatL was a fun show.

Maybe it's Lexi's British accent, but I am really digging Blood & Treasure. The leads share great chemistry and the writing isn't half bad. It's a standard CBS summer production in the adventure mold of National Treasure, but very competently executed for television.

It has been fun except for the maguffin of the coffin itself - the Nazis moved that thing all over the place during the war (Austria to Spain? huh?).

I did enjoy the show being self-aware and poking fun at the obvious National Treasure and Da Vinci Code tropes.

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I'm still behind on many shows, but I made the time today to watch the 2 hour Pilot.

I liked it. It was fun and had a very National Treasure/Davinci Code vibe. I liked the chemistry between Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas. And the international locations really add to it. It's the perfect summer escapism type show. And it doesn't take itself too seriously.

I'll try to power through and get caught up to real time.
