I'm guessing it will eventually become available for purchase on Amazon Video since Handmaid's Tale is up there. I'll probably just wait and get it there since it doesn't look like they've put The Orville out on Blu-ray so far.

I'm sure there are other pay services with good, original programming that might interest me, but I really can't keep up with what I have right now...

Uh-oh...
https://www.tmz.com/2019/07/22/adria...-scott-grimes/
Adrianne Palicki is waving the towel on her marriage to another actor ... she just filed for divorce after only a couple months as husband and wife.
According to legal docs obtained by TMZ ... the "Friday Night Lights" star is calling it quits on her union with Scott Grimes. The couple had only recently gotten married, tying the knot back in May. They do not have any children together.
Adrianne rose to fame playing Tyra on the TV version of "Friday Night Lights" ... and Scott is famous for roles on "ER" and "The Orville."
It's the first divorce for Adrianne, and the THIRD for Scott.
It's unclear what lead to the split.

I guess sometimes actors get caught up in the heat of passion and later think they're soul mates.
yeah that's going to be a really awkward set now. Riverdale also has a similar breakup with it's 2 lead stars that was just announced today as well.
I never finished the 1st season of The Orville. Just too many shows to keep up with. I think I finished 6 or 7 episodes. With this extended layoff, I think it might be feasible for me to catch up, especially since both seasons are so short.
Regarding the move from FOX to Hulu. I know some people are probably upset that it's going from "Free" TV to a paid streaming service, but creatively it's probably in the show's best interest. I know MacFarlane likes to be somewhat edgy with his shows and this way he isn't restricted by network TV censors and won't have to worry about the shitty Nielsen ratings anymore.

No doubt.

While watching S2, I had a distinct feeling SM just gave up on the whole deal.
It seemed so uninspired and lacking in spirit.

They're...already getting divorced? How the fuck does that even happen in the span of less than 2 months. What could she have possibly learned that she didn't already know?

I guess they could just disappear another character like they did when Seth and Halston Sage broke up.

My first reaction to the divorce news? The relationship and marriage was a publicity sham from the beginning, cooked up by the actors and/or the actors' PR reps to help the Orville's exposure. Now that the show is going to a streaming outlet, its future looks tenuous at best and upside earnings potential is greatly limited for the leads.
Adrianne Palicki is quickly aging out of network lead roles and this show may very well be her last lead gig. That could have been worth millions in the bank if the Orville had remained on Fox and developed a real fan base. People have gotten married for far less.

You don't know much about Hollywood and its publicity machine if you believe half of what you read about the personal lives of its stars. A certain percentage of showmances are fabricated to generate attention, which makes convenient fodder for social media and the tabloids. This is an industry that pretended for years that Rock Hudson was a straight man.

I can name probably like 5 different shows off the top of my head right now, that I don't even watch because I am not the target demographic, that have women as the lead role. Sure, women do age out of movies more, but in TV, many of them can keep working forever. Your theory is batshit insane.

Adrianne Palicki at any age is a better draw if single rather than married for sci-fi loving virgin nerds living in basements
