Re: Live In Front Of A Studio Audience (ABC)
You would think like the last two they would at least pick episodes that are still socially relevant. I assumed the episode was also partly chosen for the opportunity for multiple male guest stars. Many of the season 2-4 classic episodes were just Mrs Garrett & the 4 girls. |

Comparing the slam book to social media might indeed be a stretch, but the issue of bullying is still very socially relevant. Kinda why I was a little disappointed that they changed Rocky's point of bullying from his complexion to his headgear. In the original episode, they were all (the Bates' and Eastland students) piling on Rocky for his bad acne.
In fact, I think it is probably offensive that I used the term good skin. |
Re: Live In Front Of A Studio Audience (ABC)
I tried watching the Facts of Life yesterday and I found it borderline unwatchable. And yeah I agree while I like Aniston on other things, she was terrible playing Blair.

Can we get a do over where they just let Lisa Welchel play Blair?

Just finished this on Hulu. These shows are awful. The so-called jokes are groan worthy. The scripts are moronic. Ugh. |

Unless they plan on doing some more relevant All in the Family episodes (the one where Archie attends a clan meeting comes to mind), I don’t feel like these are worth watching for me anymore. |
Re: Live In Front Of A Studio Audience (ABC)
I predict that next time they'll do episodes of "Sanford and Son" and "One Day at a Time". I'm hoping for "Maude" (they could bring John Lithgow back) and "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" though. Or we could end up with "227" and "Silver Spoons".

Re: Live In Front Of A Studio Audience (ABC)
It wasn't a Norman Lear show, but why not an early episode of Cheers?
Can't say it's "too new", because the Facts of Life episode they did this week was from early 1982, Cheers premiered in September of the same year. The setting and decent sized cast would allow the stunt casting they love so much. |
Re: Live In Front Of A Studio Audience (ABC)
I understand that the origin of the project is Norman Lear shows, but there is no reason why it has to stay that.
I think the most fun to be had in these things is seeing performers like Jamie Foxx present their comedic take on these classic characters and the original performances. For example, I would love to see what they could do with Married w/ Children or Three's Company. |

Lisa Whelchel is 58. Let that sink in! Lisa looked amazing. Yeah, the chosen episodes weren't great. However, I will admit, I burst out laughing at one point, just at the ridiculousness of Kevin Hart playing Arnold, with his little beard. Norman Lear also looks great for 99. |

I think I saw this is on HBO Max now
