We'll see how the next season does since Survivor will now be up against The Masked Singer.

And since someone from EoE came back to win the game, I'm sure Probst will hail the concept and season as a gigantic success

Since we didn't get a lot of footage from EoE, I forgot everything about Chris. Nothing personal against him ... but the whole reward of the end of a Survivor season is that we've been following along all the remaining players all season (love them or hate them). Having someone come back in the very last episode to win was incredibly unsatisfying. I'm sure the other players on EoE loved it, but I'm guessing this went over badly with a majority of viewers.

I would've been fine with Gavin winning. He played a low-key game, but was in on a lot of key votes. I agree that it was says a lot that he didn't have a single vote against him all game. Though you could see he didn't have the jury at the end.

I don't know about next season. No returning players that are actually playing, so it might be something new for the show. They really have to cut down on the idols and advantages.

Feel bad for Victoria........she basically got taken out at during the finale because someone she met for the first time on day 32 had inside information the jury saw her as a threat, she basically rocked the game socially and strategically and her game is dead in the water due to idols and some rando 3rd episode boot coming back to kamikaze her game. In a way she was most screwed over then Gavin since it seems him and Julie were coming up 2/3 no matter how that finale played out/

I'm sure Boston Rob's fifth appearance will be a ratings juggernaut

Yeah, is anyone really wanting to see BR or Sandra again? I'd rather see Russell Hantz as a mentor. At least we're not getting Rupert again.

Rupert's been pawned off to The Amazing Race. Ugh.
Anyone else notice Jeff's Carrot top like eye brows? It really creeped me out.
Terrible season. Hated the huge jury pool. I agree about too many idols. Next time there should be none at all.

I'm OK with Rob, but I despise Sandra, -always have. Of course, maybe while she's on the island she'll find a "charisma" idol...

I wonder if Probst is trying to groom a new or temp. host with the Rob and Sandra thing...he has to be getting tired of doing the show/want to explore other opportunities - if only for a season or two.

He already tried doing his talk show which didn't last very long. Since they made him a producer, I think he's happy now. Plus he probably only needs to 3-4 months a year on Survivor.

They fired the casting director last summer (she had been there since the beginning) so Probst is fully in charge of the show now. You can make your own jokes about Rob and Sandra back for the umpteenth time the moment he takes full control of casting.

Players exiting the game and returning almost a month later...check
Massive jury full of players even their families had forgotten were on the show...check
More Immunity Idols and advantages flying around than you can count...check
Terrible and instantly forgettable season, possibly the worst ever...check

Agree. Rob being back is the one thing that guarantees I will tune in next season, even despite Sandra coming back as well.

re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction - Season 38 Thread

They're currently getting ready to or are already filming "Survivor" Season 40, which will air in Spring 2020. The premise will be
Spoiler:
"All-Winners"
and the rumored cast will include
Spoiler:
Boston Rob and his wife Amber, Sandra Diaz-Twine (which means they probably won't be taking part in the actual game next time), Ethan Zohn, Tony Vlachos, Parvati Shallow, Tyson Apostal, Yul Kwon, and quite a few you'll barely remember from more recent seasons. "Cochran"'s got a job, so he's out.

Survivor: Season 39 is currently $3.99 at Amazon.

Amazon Amazon

This is obviously a misprice and will be fixed soon. So if you want it, grab it quick.
