They are wearing official costumes and they were paid by Disney to perform at the Episode 8 wrap party. Their official website lists Lucasfilm and Disney as clients. I suspect Disney owns part of the dance group or gets a payment.

What bothers me is that Boogie Storm is pretty average as dance troupes go. It makes me wonder what's really going on here.

They don't look like screen accurate Stormtroopers though. I'm sure they had to modify the costumes to be able to dance in them. It bothers me how the codpieces seem to come forward.

Do they only do Stormtroopers? Do they ever throw in any biker scouts, royal guards, or even Darth Vader?
