The first episode is kinda boring. But it really gets going after that. Give it at least 3 episodes before giving up.

I absolutely loved Season 1. Scary with real good character development. Hoping for a Season 2.

Just finished the final episode. Great show! I thought all the actors were solid. I haven't seen Henry Thomas in anything recently. He was really good as the younger Hugh. Carla Gugino is always excellent. I also liked Annabeth Gish in her small role.

The first few episodes felt a bit slow, but then it picked up and set a good pace after that. Once the 'tall man' ghost showed up looking for his hat, I was hooked. :shivers:

The "bent neck lady" episode was really great. Horrible, but great. I had even guessed at the truth earlier, but the execution of it was still really effective and horrifying.

I occasionally noticed the shadowy figures in the background, but the hidden ghost that was a 'holy shit!' moment for me was when

Spoiler:
Hugh was working on trying to remove the mold from the brick wall in that one room/basement.

Just finished this and I really enjoyed it. Like others have said, it wasn't the scary "jump" scenes that freaked me out but the visuals of some of the ghosts. I loved the ending even though I did have to read up on it to make sure i understood it entirely. Definitely worth a rewatch.

Binged this a couple weeks back. Awesome show and definitely needs a re-watch since I know there are aspects of it I missed out on.

We are through nine episodes. I am so disappointed I have missed almost all of the hidden ghosts.

Did this get renewed?

It was renewed, but it is an anthology show. The next will be The Haunting of Bly Manor. It just wrapped filming last week. https://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/64...-flanagan.html

So I realize this show is a couple years old, but I just started to watch this tonight. I was interested in the new season, but hadn’t seen this first one (I know it’s an anthology but still).

Overall the show is fairly decent so far. I’m only two episodes in. Some creepy vibes for sure and a very atmospheric show. I like how it flashes back and forth with the timeline. The acting is all pretty good so far.

It does seem a tad on the slow side for my liking (I like slow burns, but it feels like the episodes are a bit long). I would say despite that though the show is keeping my interest so far.

Stick with it. It's excellent. And keep an eye out for hidden ghosts.

Oh man, yes! I've gone back and watched that episode alone several times. It's a masterpiece.

No, they are all good, but episode 5 is fantastic while 6 is just a damn masterpiece worth the whole season.

Picked this up at Wallyworld when they had a good price on it, was NOT disappointed with this show. I highly recommend that you invest the time to watch it. If you like horror, and don't care about in-your-face-every-freakin'-moment, then I think you'll enjoy this. The acting was great, visuals fabulous, story was engaging, what jump scares there were, were done very well. Definitely invest the time, I think it's worth it. I'm really glad I bought it.

I wrapped this up last night... incredible show. The tall man was freaky!
I never understood why the mom succumbed to the sprits but the rest of the family was sort of immune to them until she died.
