I'm willing to give this a shot as the original terrified and thrilled me as a kid, but it isn't looking promising from that trailer. It wasn't all bad, but the points it was selling weren't hitting.

I'll give it a shot but the trailer gave me 'meh' feelings about it.
I appreciate the homages from the movie but I'm not a fan of the forced comedy bits. The movie didn't have any of that. It's was organic. One of my favorite parts was on the Titanic when Randall was talking to Kevin and his cigar ashes were falling on his head during the conversation.

But hey, they could've made all the bandits into politically correct "magical creature" CGI monstrosities like Disney is doing with the dwarf characters in their live-action Snow White. God, I hate modern Hollywood.

i just watched the movie again. been a very long time. it still holds up. the cameos, the players (RIP Shelley Duvall), story were all so great and was still was last night. really looking forward to this new one. especially, considering they both created What We Do In The Shadows. Waititi and Jermaine Clement.

i thought the first two eps were very strong. a lot of humor and Kevin is great casting as the kid. everyone was perfect. Kudrow was showing signs of Phoebe, but everyone gelled so well together. very much enjoyed this. and look forward to the rest....

I enjoyed this for what it was but felt it lost steam as it went along. The last few episodes had some rather choppy writing and plotting and ending on a cliffhanger when it’s unsure this will get a season 2 is annoying.

They also really did a poor job of writing out the character of Judy after the actress quit mid-series over some harassment claims (not going to get into that whole issue). It was very sloppily dealt with and just a few steps above “Poochie died on the way back to his home planet” stuff. I’m a fan of Taiki and Jemaine but this felt like less than it could’ve been.

I enjoyed this show more than I thought I would. It’s not ground-breaking, but it’s a fun diversion. The Saffron-taught Neanderthals really steal the show.

Just my opinion, but I don't get the appeal of Waititi... he does really polarizing projects. I believe he's still slated to do something with Star Wars -- which is already polarizing. I'm sure it'll be canceled but if he does come thru with something, I hope it has legs.

About halfway through this. Again, it's my favorite movie of all time, and the first episode had me saying "Yeah, they ruined it" but I'll still watch the rest of it. Have been dreading it though. The ones after that haven't been too bad, but Lisa Kudrow just doesn't belong in this. (Of course I could be judging her from her previous roles, maybe she really is smart and has just mainly played stupid people so far.) Always wish the movie sequel had happened, they could even pick it up in present day more than 40 years later.

I gave this a hard try and could barely make it through the first episode Time Bandits is one of my favorite fantasy movies of all time. Saw it in theaters when I was 10 years old and into Dungeons and Dragons, miniature wargaming, Lord of the Rings, etc. that kind of nerdy kid. I really kept an open mind with this remake but... it was one of those shows that was WAY too much in love with itself without really earning it from the audience.

Me either. When this was announced I was somewhat interested. Then, I saw who was behind it. Meh. I didn’t even bother and glad I didn’t. Please keep him away from Star Wars. That franchise doesn’t need more crap material. It actually needs to rest for a while if anything. But don’t let that clown near Star Wars. He ruined Thor, as far as I’m concerned. Just no on this guy.
