Yeah, this is a major bummer. Easily the best character/actor on the show.
JDM is a fine actor but agree with smorbie Negan should be physically imposing; like 250 pounds roided jacked dude. JDM barely fits that leather jacket. He's lean and weighs 160s so basically the total opposite of how Negan should look. Second they cast JDM, he should've started a dirty bulk.

Best review I read today about Eugene, "We're not really sure why he couldn't just run away when she had her back turned."
My thoughts for the finale:
Gabriel was intentionally fucking up the ammo. Eugene put him back on the line to continue intentionally fuck up the ammo. Pretty obvious he had thoughts on what Rosita told him, plus Gabriel had that talk with him about when he was lost after what he did to save himself at his church.
Full expectations that the Oceanside gang will arrive in time to save the day.
If you saw the preview for the finale:

The Comedian framed JDM would've been better... JDM lost all this weight to play some sickly dude in a miniseries about the Alamo IIRC and never seemed to put it back.

Exactly. It will only serve to further anger the audience because the writers are not nearly good enough to pull it off. There will be some stupid stunt (Negan heroically saves Judith, that sort of thing) that they will expect to make all of that skull splattering/face melting enslavement history evaporate, and it will be an absurdity.

I never watch Talking Dead anymore, but for some reason I left it on in the background ... and was well-rewarded with that high-slit dress Christian Serratos was wearing ...

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E15) -- "Worth" -- 4/8/18
I suspect they feel in love with the idea of having JDM play Negan believing they were getting this:
When far less of him showed up (and he's got even lighter as the series progressed) they for whatever reason decided not create a plan B. That said I think they did a good job of showing that Negan didn't beat Simon because he's stronger. It's because Simon is not good in a fight with somebody that actually could fight back. And Negan took that opportunity to show the rest that he can do more than just bash people with a bat much like leaders of gangs do when challenged as the alpha dog. I'll miss Ogg big time, but it's been clear for a few weeks now that he was toast.
The finale seems to be all but fully choreographed now. Rick and Negan have their directives from Carl. You've got the group receiving warning in the form of the "plan" from Gregory who they know not to trust. Negan is now going to let emotion take over, and the Oceanside folks seem to be ready to come in and provide the surprise support that will be enough for good to win over evil. Only unknown seems to be what role Jadis will have in the finale (if any).

I think now the main reason I still watch "The Walking Dead" anymore is so I can then watch Funny Or Die's "The Most Ridiculous Things From Last Night's The Walking Dead" the next day about the latest episode to get a good laugh.

^ What I found funny was that the letter seemed to have gone on and on and on, yet it looks to be only 1 page... and only written on one side.

I watched this last and the highlight for me was Eugene puking all over Rosita as his means of escape. That was so stupid, yet hilarious.
Yeah the Negan and Simon fight was really contrived. Just 2 egomaniacs seeing who has the bigger set of balls.
Now that I've paid attention a little more, Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks really thin. His clothes look really loose, especially his pants.
I don't what good Michonne thought reading Carl's letter to Negan would have done. Seemed like a waste of time to me.

Why did Hardwick have the reaction he did when GoT was mentioned? Is it "frowned upon" when shows that air on channels other than AMC are brought up? If it wasn't allowed they would've censored it.

I just remember thinking there are a lot of people who don't watch that show, and they won't know the scene she was referring to.

Based on my watching of TD pretty much every week, it would seem the general rule is that they only mention other shows when it features one of the guests on the couch.

Yeah, they would probably rather not promote other networks' programs on Talking Dead.
They probably could have censored it, though. They censored several sentences from Christian Serratos.

This is how I've been watching TWD this season... Well, not the episode and then the Funny or Die - I only watch the Funny or Die recaps. Those 4 minutes are all I need.

Wow, that Funny or Die video really did sum up the episode in 5 1/2 minutes.

Every single episode could be resumed as "some characters try to capture or kill some other characters and fail coz it's not the finale".

Seriously. About a third of the audience disappears during the six episodes between the half season premiers and finales for good reason.

For anyone who might be interested in following Morgan's exploits in Fear the Walking Dead (premieres Sunday) and bailed on that show, according to the Producers seasons 1-3 aren't required viewing. You can jump in.
Sounds like the time jump explanation for how Morgan moves to Texas is coming true.

So they're catching the FTWD timeline up to TWD so Morgan can move over there it seems. Wonder if he'll stay a regular on FTWD for future seasons or if he'll find his way back to TWD. I suppose there is always the possibility he dies instead though.
Wonder who'd survive if Rick met up with Madison. Both tend to destroy any new communities they come across. Though this season seems to be setting up towards making Rick passive.
I just hope next season of TWD isn't about finding some new community that ends up being a war between them and Rick. Would be nice to get back to the whole surviving in a zombie apocalypse thing rather than massacring another community.

She's lost in her grief, just like she was before when her baby died. It's just taking a different form this time. She's entirely focused on keeping Carl alive by making the world the way he wanted it. Remember in their universe Carl died, literally yesterday.

The finale will be a conclusion for the first 8 seasons:

Great! Will make it even easier to bail after Sunday.
