Sounds like future seasons would still be about the Gettys: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...0?facebook0326

That’s really interesting in that it puts the show in the weird position of not knowing if it is a Limited Seires or a TV Drama. I don’t know how they or the Emmys rectify that. Probably put them in the Limited Series category now and apologize later like Big Little Lies did.

I suppose it wouldn't be considered an anthology anymore?

By Emmy definition it’s not if it is a continuing story with the same cast. But the show was conceived as a Limited Series. If it’s good enough to be Award-worthy, it will find itself in a fairly unique predicament.

Yea, when it was originally announced it was called an anthology series, but it doesn't seem like that is what the creators consider it anymore. I guess if they are using different actors to play younger and older version of characters it could be.

The story that dex posted also says the future planned seasons (3 total) would probably come out every other year. They haven’t even started working on the second season yet.

I enjoyed it.

Took me a little bit to recognize Getty Jr’s hot blonde girlfriend was Eleanor on Black Sails.

Good show. Brendan Fraser is excellent. My TV viewership is limited these days, but I can't remember another show on basic cable that's dropped the F bomb.

Re: Trust (FX) -- From EP Danny Boyle -- Premieres 3/25/18

I watched the 1st 2 episodes last night.

Each episode ran 80+ minutes. This almost feels like an expanded version of "All the Money in the World."

I like Donald Sutherland's take on the Getty character. It's very different compared to the movie.

and I at the end when he found out his grandson was posing nude in girly magazines. Brendan Fraser has been great as the investigator.

Even SyFy has finally gotten into the game by not censoring the wildly profane "Happy!".

"Feud" used it pretty liberally.

I believe it started with Louie and really went for it with O.J.

I would assume Versace used it plenty, but I didn't stick with it. I'm pretty sure Fargo has.

There aren't any rules that ever prevented them from using it. They were just never bold enough to do it because of advertisers. Now I guess they don't care.

Just watched the second episode. Man that was a great hour of TV.

Who knew Brendan Fraser had this in him.

Anyone still watching this? I think it's been quite an entertaining ride. Sutherland's been great in this portraying Getty (I knew nothing about the man) and the way the kidnapping saga played out was quite a ride. Stand-out role for Brendan Fraser.

Finale is this weekend for anyone still watching.

Re: Trust (FX) -- From EP Danny Boyle -- Premieres 3/25/18

Just finished this last night. I know it had more hours of story to go more in depth, but I definitely found it superior to the Ridley Scott movie. Sutherland's Getty in particular felt more layered as a person.

Some of the side stories, like the butler, were probably unnecessary. Also think we spent a little too much time with the kidnappers.

It's fun to know that at the end Gisela was pregnant with Balthazar Getty.

Re: Trust (FX) -- From EP Danny Boyle -- Premieres 3/25/18

I just binged this over the last two days -- it just happened to be on my HULU recommendations. As much as I like the Ridley Scott version, this one buries that one. Sutherland and Fraser were phenomenal. You also get a crash course in economics. I like an early scene where Getty (Sutherland) is telling his grandson how his charity works and how they use the money in it to buy more oil fields. Since there is no money being withdrawn there is no tax hit and there is also no money being generated. Fascinating.
