And someone finally ran out of bullets! Of course, it had to be Rick so it would end up helping Negan.

Spoiler:

She’s not. Unless she’s in the very most recent issue, which I haven’t picked up yet.

I saw Black Panther twice this week. I kept thinking Michone should get some help from Wakanda.

That was incredibly annoying, and par for the course of this show.

Unload a full magazine into the floor of the car, and then be a terrible shot, once Negan is in the open.

Then, when he's fighting with him in the basement, he charges him with his body, instead of the hatchet he's got on his side.

And, of course, junkyard woman doesn't kill him when she has the opportunity. What could possibly go wrong?

That's been a problem for a long time now. There is ZERO tension in this type of scene. There is no actual threat of harm befalling any non-background character without first drawing it out for several episodes at least. So instead we get comically bad shot Rick and all the other nonsense to prevent anything meaningful from happening. Sadder yet is that in the show's timeline this is just a few days after their last meet-up in Rick's house in Alexandria. How many more times will they film this scene?

Simon sounding like Negan by the look on Dwight's face.

This is exactly right. Why couldn't we have Rick actually hit Negan with a bullet (when he wasn't behind a car on its side, which would be difficult to shoot through) and then bash him with the scary bat? But oh no--neither one even gets hurt and Negan--shocker--gets away. All with zero suspense.

Currently watching Sneaky Pete S2, and that show has tension galore, which only makes TWD look even worse to me.

Didn't know she was in the show? Was she one of the Hilltop or Savior?

Fucking A that was bad.

What was the point of shooting the underside of the car, anyway?

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E12) -- "The Key" -- 3/18/18

All in all, for what it is worth, I thought this was a pretty good episode with its usual flaws. It was quite a departure for a Nicotero-directed episode as it was mostly character driven and didn’t have any major gross-out set piece beyond the gutting of the fence walkers.

I did get a kick out of the low-speed car chase in the alley ending in an off-camera “crash”. That does lead me to my first gripe: walker guts are now SO toxic that Negan is going to ride around with an open bucket of guts in his car. When he sticks Lucille in the bucket, he touches his mouth with his one gloved hand (why was he wearing one glove). Somehow he rolls his car, with the open 5-gallon bucket of guts in it, but manages to NOT get any of it into any open wounds ...

Anyway, the dialogue between Negan and Rick was, for this show, well done and conveyed those characters’ mindsets. I’m loving the fact that so many people on here are still delusional and bitching about Rick’s aim and Rick’s inability to kill Negan. Eventually you will come to realize Rick isn’t the good guy or even A good guy. He is so blinded by his own rage and ego that he is incompetent and that is not a new development. He has done nothing but destroy every community he has come in contact with. It can’t be spelled out much simpler than that.

I like the direction of the Simon/Dwight storyline, particularly the character development in Simon. I didn’t think the writers had the ability to write something this “complex”. By overthrowing a despot, you replace the devil you know with something worse. Dwight’s realization that he just screwed up by backing Simon was classic.

Georgie — well, that’s the world of The Walking Dead. Another piece setting up a time jump? I thought it was odd that Maggie & Co. didn’t find out where they were from though. I’m wondering what their dark secret is going to be. Also interesting: no men were involved. It did seem a little like a retread of Oceanside (maybe it was the bodyguards).

Since majorjoe23 mentioned Black Panther — I never realized just how far The Walking Dead went to eliminate any sex appeal from Michonne.

To delay the inevitable killing of Negan as long as possible because the show has a raging hard on for Negan and thinks he's the greatest character of all time.

LOL at the 20mph car "chase".

Does anyone actually care about any of these characters anymore?

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E12) -- "The Key" -- 3/18/18

for me the episodes since Carl left the show have been at least marginally better than the first half of the season or the mid season return. Nothing close to the quality of past seasons but not completely terrible.

I mean its laughable that Rick would waste 2 clips and then toss his gun as he ran into the building after Negan, also to have the car crash off camera is lame but they seem to be trying a little harder this half of the season.

Speaking of Carl, he's become more annoying since he died.

"Carl would have wanted this. Carl would've wanted that."

FFS, give it a rest. I hated his character for most of the show. Then he was tolerable, and they kill him off. Now he's annoying, once again.

Weapons, ammunition, vehicles, gasoline ... it’s all plentiful in the Apocalypse! Well, until it’s inconvenent for the story that week.

Man this was such filler bullshit. Rick vs Negan #21 and same result. Draw. Anyone actually thought it would be different? No it wasn't the season ender.

This is what is wrong with American TV in general. There is usually absolutely no tension throughout the season because you know, nothing is going to happen until the finale. You knew going into this Rick vs. Negan bout #21 that both would be fine when it was over, because it's not the season finale.
