Re: The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards Ceremony -- TV edition -- 1/7/18
We haven’t finished last season of the American’s which hasn’t been up to par on the story, so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, but neither Rhyes or Russell were even nominated this year.
We don’t watch, but it would be interesting if Will and Grace were to win after being gone so long. I bet that would hasten or spur a lot more comebacks (ala Mad About You).

Damn. Franco gave Tommy the biggest snub I've seen at an awards show.

Not if you know Tommy. There's been comparisons to our current president in the politics forum, and it's not an outrageous claim; Tommy Wiseau truly thinks everything is about him, and I think he was going to take credit for Franco's performance.

No comments on Kirk Douglas' appearance? Man, I hate to be so morbid, but seeing him out there made me think I have him too LOW on my Death Pool in the Otter forum. I know you can't judge everything from outward appearances, but I can't imagine it's any fun to live life like that.

Oprah sounded like she was a sentence away from announcing her candidacy for 2020.
A good joke would have been someone getting mad that "once again not ONE woman nominated in the best actor category".
I agree with just about everything that was said tonight, even if a lot of it was poured on pretty thick and a little self serving. The one thing I don't agree with is pay inequality, at least in Hollywood. You get paid in movies precisely what you are worth. When Jennifer Lawrence gets paid 20 million and a male costar gets 100 grand, where is the pay inequality there? Sexism exists at a systemic level in our world, but when it comes to pay in movies not even even sexism can chip away at the role of the almighty dollar. NOTHING in Hollywood trumps cold hard cash. If you put asses in the seats you get paid for exactly how many asses you can put in the seats.
Anyways, I thought Seth's monologue was the highlight of the show.

Part of me was glad he did it, but the other part of me was curious what crazy, cringey ass shit he was gonna say.
