I love that Tom Sizemore's first line got to be, "Look who's back from bendersville!"

At first I thought they dubbed James Belushi with someone else's voice. I guess this is his "serious actor" accent.

Dr. Jacobi's asinine internet show was. Love that Nadine is apparently a big fan.

It's good and I'm still enjoying it, but I'm still ready to see more of the people of Twin Peaks and less "Dougie" so that we can have Agent Cooper back. I'm spoiled by being able to binge netflix shows, I guess.

So would I, but think this series is pretty much going to be The Kyle Maclachlan Show with special guest appearance by the Cast of Twin Peaks.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with that if the Dougie stuff was working better for me. Other than a few moments here and there, it has left me pretty cold. I'd say the same thing, to a lesser extent, about evil Cooper. Although, if he wasn't wearing that awful Michael Madsen wig, I'd probably feel much better about that character.

As for last night's episode, getting only one really highlights the fact that this is more or less an 18 hour movie chopped into pieces. Mostly it just felt like some stuff that happened without much of a beginning, middle or end. It was fun to see that Mike is back to being kind of a jerk. He had one of the more inconsistent character progressions on the original series, going from mega dick in the first couple of episodes to whatever it was that he became later in the series.

Still loving it. But it definitely has the pacing of a Lynch feature film. I'm not sure the audience will continue to hold on if Agent Cooper doesn't start acting like Agent Cooper shortly.

For those interested, this October Mark Frost will be releasing Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier which is not only the sequel to The Secret History Of Twin Peaks but also explains what happened to all the characters in the 25 years between S2 & S3. Pre-order is up on Amazon.

Which is what Frost's FIRST book was supposed to do, until he seemed to figure out he could maximize profit.

Seriously, although Frost is credited with co-writing the series script, I'm guessing there's very little Frost we're seeing - he seems to have been given the old characters (other than Cooper) and Lynch is handling all the Good Cooper/Bad Cooper stuff and all the new characters/locations. Lynch has already stated that about 20 percent of the new series is stuff he came up with on the set and he's also said that Frost had nothing to do with the series other than helping with the script.

You know, I said to myself, "That guy kind of looks like Tom Sizemore", but I didn't know it was him until I read this thread.

Re: Twin Peaks (S1E05) -- "The Return - Part 5" -- 6/4/17

Loved it start to finish from the nervous phone call on the blackberry to Dougie examining the shoes with end credits music. Perfect blend of comedy & mystery.

So much was going on. It's hard to list all the cool stuff.

- The phone calls to that weird place in Argentina with the blinking box.
- Evil Coop and Bob in the mirror.
- Dougie's wedding band found in the corpse.

I've been enjoying the Dougie scenes way more than I was expecting.
When he blurts out "He's lying." It was a great moment.
Kyle MacLachlan essentially doing silent movie acting and it's really great work.

Loved the crazy-ass Jacoby/Dr.Amp show with the pay off to the gold shovels. Only $29.99! Jacoby's crazy outfit & props, the speech, those cutaways to Jerry & then Nadine watching the show, all of it had me in stitches.

That stunning but simple closeup of Amanda Seyfried's luminous face with the red seat & music. Beautiful moment.

I'm glad this was not released all at once because it allows time to digest and reflect on each episode.

"...and we're gonna get that black mold Frank!"

Robert Forster is proving to be master of the deadpan.
