Re: American Gods (Starz) -- From Neil Gaiman / Bryan Fuller -- Premieres 4/30/17
I don't know if it's due to the fact that I elected to watch the whole season over the span of 10 days, but season 3 overall was much better than season 2, especially the final episode was a vast improvement to the previous season finale. Initially I was hesitant to get into it weekly due to the "Shadow in hiding" aspect, but it was handled well enough and does not feel like a lot of wheel spinning and nothing happening. Despite the mundane nature of most of the Lakeside related plot-lines, at least it still kept me engaged and see what happens next.
I never read the book, so I really have no clue what kind of deity/spirit Ann Marie Hinzelmann is supposed to be, except that she is of Nordic origin. Also, I am assuming next season that Loki is finally stepping out of the shadows based on the cryptic hints and comments near the end by "Mr. World".

For some reason, I thought this was the last season. I was like "how are they going to finish this up".
I've enjoyed all three seasons. Its slow pace, mystery, and dense narrative make it tedious sometimes. But it keeps my attention and looks really pretty.

They better renew it. And hopefully make it the final season. It's kind of a long, tedious story that needs an ending now.
How far along are they compared to the books?

Gaiman and Eglee back in 2019 said they had begun to plan a fourth season.
There's still a lot more to tell so I could see this going into a season 5 pretty easily at the rate they've been going.

let’s see if Fuller gets another show and sees it through to the end. Or at least last the pilot!

i saw season 1 and 2 and i enjoyed it. But now that we know it's not coming for a 4th. How 'wrapped up' did season 3 end on? Is it worth watching it only to never have a conclusion?
Thanks

No more resolution in Season 3 than in Season 2.
I hope Starz can do a movie to wrap it up. The whole series felt like something big was underneath and that's part of why it feels so good.

While they did right the ship in Season 3, that disastrous Season 2 dragging things out plus the delayed release probably killed the interest of a lot of people. It would be nice though to see some kind of conclusion to the story.

Finished up season 3 tonight. Oof, they were clearly not expecting to get canceled. I assume we'll see a 4th season on a streaming service one day
