Seems like Gillian's character will always be some celebrity impersonation. That's Lucy, Bowie and Marilyn so far. All three so far were perfect.

And don't piss her off. Her kiss packs a wallop.

Nice seeing Laura Moon nude throughout most of the episode. More of that please.

No way Emily Browning was nude. Full prosthetic suit. Also, why would you like seeing a naked woman with huge stitch marks from an autopsy? Thats plain weird.

As for the character of Laura i have quickly gotten to hate her. Her motivations, her actions and the way she says "Pappi" wished that Mad Sweeney did a job on her head into concrete. Still a decent episode and nice to see the introduction of Mr World.

Personally I think it's possibly a combo of both. And a different "suit" for each of the scenes since they looked vastly different. Given Browning hasn't been shy about being nude in the past, I tend to think the "suit" is a combo of stitching stuff to work around the chest area and her real chest.

I loved the animated opening scene. I thought it was done with stop motion figures, but the interview after the show indicated that it was CGI.

She is kind of a ****. Doesn't she call Shadow "puppy"? I thought that was her nickname for him because he acted like one toward her.

I hated that opening scene, I didn't even realize those were supposed to be humans! I thought they were fairies or elves or something.

Sounds to me like she to calling him "papi."
Literally translated papi means father or dad (daddy), but it's also used by women as a term of endearment for their boyfriend.

I've always thought it was "puppy". She doesn't always say it clearly though.

It was clarified in an earlier episode that she calls him Puppy, and I don't like the way she says it either.

Sounds like Papi. But yeah it's Puppy.

Anyway, binge watched all episodes last night. Really well shot and done. Ian McShane is such a solid anchor, could see it going off the rails without him. Kind of confusing if you don't know the source material but in a good way more so than an annoying Preacher way.

Holy shit. The first episode blew me right the fuck away. How wonderfully bizarre. It's like if Cronenberg & Lynch got high on peyote and decided to write an episode of "Supernatural".

I couldn't agree more! Gave up on Preacher for that very reason.

Really good episode and truly exceptional dialogue in this one. Still mostly bewildering. but it is becoming clearer. Shadow not knowing who Mr Wednesday is NOW is somewhat ludicrous...it was spelled out in big letters by Mr World and Gillian last week and this week should solidify it for him.

I didn't know that gods could kill each other that easily. I assumed they were immortal so long as they had people to worship them. Why did Laura go home instead of following Shadow?

Unnn, I actually don't think it was that easy. He got Vulcan to pledge alliance to him (even though he planned on betraying him) then forged a sword that could kill a god thinking that the new gods would use it to kill Odin. At least that is how I read it

Surprised this late in the season we get an episode devoted almost entirely to one of the "Coming to America" parts of the book.

Seems to be the way they're stretching it out for at least two seasons. I was more okay with this and the way they're devoting time now.

It seems like it could be very important how those two got to where they are. I really got into this one since it featured Browning and the Lep.

I thought it was a great episode. Now we see it's Ibis who writes and narrates the CTA interludes. Interesting making of coda where they talked about the late decision to cross-cast Emily as the Irish lass.

I thought that was one of the reasons why red revived her. Not only because he was responsible for her death. But because she also reminded him of the woman who was so devoted to him long ago.
