All caught up. This show is beyond crude but holy heck it is crazy funny. Also, count me as another big fan off how Gabby and Brockmire’s relationship has evolved into something kind of wonderful.

The season had its moments but not on the level of seasons 1 and 2.
It seemed there was more raunch and toilet humor this season.

I also thought the season tailed off quite a bit over the second half of the season.

Definitely a drop-off from the first 2 seasons, though I loved JK Simmons in this.

The time jump allows them to have both ways, -depending on which way they want to go. Brockmire can be sober, -or some other positive progression, -yet still acknowledge the difficulty of getting there without the episode-to-episode drudgery of wallowing in his collapse without any light at the end of the tunnel. Or they could go in the opposite direction.

Sorry, but where does it say there will be a ten year time jump? The trailer doesn't make it seem that way. And, does that mean he's now in the future, or was he in the past before and we didn't know it?

It was definitely mentioned in THR article, they must've removed it. TNYT still reports it as such:

I guess I got confused because Joe Buck and Amanda Peet don't look like they've aged. If it's 2030, I wonder if they've finally got the robot umpires perfected, and if they've finally eliminated catcher's signs by using radio transmitters/receivers like they should.

I just don't know what they are doing with this season. Adding a new cast member in the form of a daughter, the time skip ahead, the constant badmouthing of baseball itself, it's all leaving a bad taste in my mouth. The show has moved in a less entertaining direction. It feels like the writers/producers grew bored having a show set in the baseball world and decided to throw everything out.

I am in the minority but think this is better than season 3 which was awful since Brockmire was not happy and a mess.
