I'll never hear "Amazing Grace" and not think about handi-Js again. Thank you Brockmire.

I managed to finish the 1st season back in the Fall. I watched a few when it originally aired and then it fell on the backburner.
It had some funny moments, but the Brockmire character frustrated me. Especially the way he treated Jules at the end. He was such a selfish prick. Yeah I know, he's supposed to be an asshole.
I did laugh at the episode that featured Joe Buck and all the other broadcasters.

Nobody? I’m a few days late (not like that!) due to work.
I thought this was a pretty good start to the second season. The opening monologue would have our resident ass-man Otters beaming with pride.
Loved the Crawfish mascot!

Still nobody? I'm still late ...
Not a bad second episode. It was nice to focus a bit on Charles (and his creepy ass robot sisters).

That ...and the show seems to be wallowing in the general unpleasantness, -the near loathsomeness of Brockmire, -which was nicely counter-balanced by the relationship with Peet's character.

Wow, Brockmire is a scumbag.
Plus, one big thing we learned is that loves eating black booty.
Charles Mom: "Charles, I have cancer.....Emotional Cancer"
Sucks that Jules wasn't in either of the 2 episodes, but I guess understandable since Brockmire and Charles are out of town.

It's becoming more and more mean-spirited as a comedy, which reminds me a great deal of another program that aired on IFC, the Marc Maron show.

Yea. I bailed on this. Without Peet, I’m not really interested.

According to the IFC site, it looks like Amanda Peet returns in episode 5.
But yeah I see where your coming from, being out 4 episodes of an 8 episodes where the main character is a fucking douchebag makes it hard to stick with this.

I'm still watching this show and loving it. I think it's one of the funniest things on TV at the moment. I think it's because Brockmire (the character) kind of reminds me of Cleaver Greene from the original Rake (not the shitty Greg Kinnear remake). Both are kind of Hunter S. Thompson-ish characters who have serious substance abuse issues, but who nevertheless often speak social truths (or skewer society) though the haze of pills and booze. Compare Brockmire's "booty rant" with Greene's drunken rant to a clown at kid's birthday party about right-wing vs. left-wing women:
GREENE: "You want the truth? Right-wing chicks are hot. Much hotter than left-wing chicks, and you know why that is? Because right-wing chicks are aggressively carnivorous, self-reliant Ayn Rand acolytes who understand the value of the moment. They get that sex is something in and of itself beholden to nothing and no one and as a consequence of that understanding they're less inhibited and therefore hornier. Left-wing chicks, on the other hand, they're vegans who want a holistic experience. They're all about context. They talk about an orgasm like it's a pet spaniel, and so consequently the moment's ruined and this, Mr Clown, is the real reason why the left has carked it, because the right is constantly procreating while the left is grooming a dead dog."
CLOWN: "Hey! My mother was a communist!"
GREENE: "So you were adopted, then?"
[Clown punches Greene]

I like Peet and will welcome her return, but in the mean time I think some of you guys are missing the forest for the trees.

argh, IFC was removed from my tier on Comcast. Looks like only way to catch it otherwise is Hulu? Or anyone else see it elsewhere?

Just got around to seeing the last episode and the one scene with Jules made me smile more than I have this entire season.
I’m not saying I don’t like the show or it hasn’t been funny at times. I just really think Peet is perfect for that character and that Jules really gives great balance to Brockmire.
I hope if they keep the show going they are both in it together more like the first season.

Catching up on this week's shows ... I think this may have been the best episode this season. Really liked Raj and Brockmire in the booth together.

I miss Amanda Peet show but season 2 seems to be leagues above season 1 and they are taking it to another level with the writing and jokes.

I agree...I don't get the take from some folks that the show has declined somehow. Brockmire is a deeply flawed dude, just as he was in S1. The only difference in S2 is that we see without the somewhat leveling influence of Jules (Peet) and now having started his professional comeback from rock bottom, the raw, unadulterated (and frankly hilarious) Brockmire is revealed. Brockmire's depravity is the antagonist of this season's story arc.
