re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I watched both episodes this morning and I enjoyed it. I like most of the cast and I love the whole true crime mockumentary angle. I also kept remembering Lithgow on Dexter lol.

I thought it was a riot.
Was like watching the OJ trial but funnier |
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I watched the first two episodes and thought it was pretty terrible.
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Anyone else catch this?
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
a bit rough but so was S1 of Parks & Rec.
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I thought this was pretty good. I was concerned that murder was a poor topic for a comedy but it was silly and didnt take it itself seriously. I will keep watching.

re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Lithgow was great as always. But there weren't a ton of laughs to be had. But I like the cast so I'll stick with it.

re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I'm loving this show.
It has just the right amount of wackiness. Last ep had an homage to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. |
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
This show is fucking hilarious. Sheri Sheppard is great.
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I have a wine syndrome.
So it's seems pretty clear that Lithgow actually did this right? |
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
This is a much better show than Powerless. Why are they burning off episodes so fast?
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Sheppard is the star of this show. Can't believe I typed that.

My wife and I love this show. Went in not expecting anything and now we can't wait until the next episode. Too bad the next episode is the season finale.
The whole cast is great, and I love the courtroom scenes/banter the best. So much goes by so fast it's difficult to keep up. |

re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I'll have to go back and watch these shows again. I gave up after the first episode, but it's probably because I hate Sheppard. With the good buzz, I'll give it another try.

As for the finale, I figured there would some kind of twist, but I wasn't expecting that kind. Overall, it was an ok show.
|
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Woah.
Anyone watch the finale? The end was taken from a real event essentially and it was featured on Dateline last week. This show turned out to be a real sleeper. Glad I watched it. |
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
This is the dateline ep.
http://www.nbc.com/dateline/video/do...ircase/3495286 This guy was also a subject of a doc that is considered very good but I haven't seen it called The Staircase. His wife was probably killed the same as in this tv show. |
re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I don't even like Lithgow and I enjoyed the show. I missed a few episodes, but overall thought it was very funny and would like to see it return.

re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I liked it quite a bit. Has a similar vibe to Parks & Recreation, but it is funnier.

re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I really enjoyed this. Hope it gets renewed.

I liked Trial and Error enough that I'll watch it if it comes back but for every smart witty joke they had, they'd throw in 2 obvious/annoying attempts at jokes that didn't land for me - I like the cast and the format but if it doesn't get renewed I won't be upset. |

Toplined by Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, NBC's "Trial & Error: Lady, Killer" will return to East Peck when the second season debuts Thursday, July 19 at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Last season the 9 p.m. telecast of "Trial & Error" averaged a 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research and the 9:30 episode averaged a 1.1 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers. The series delivered a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 119 at 9 p.m. and a 121 at 9:30 among adults 18-49 in $100K+ homes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those viewers). The first season of "Trial & Error" is now available exclusively on the NBC App and Video on Demand. Critics were fans of the first season, with Vulture writing, "Deconstructing and poking fun at true crime is a great idea, and 'Trial & Error'... has some real fun with that." Entertainment Weekly added, "The true-crime genre was due for a good zinging. It got one." In the spirit of true crime documentaries, the second season of this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D'Agosto), still relatively a newcomer in a tiny southern town, who is sturdily posed for his next big case there. His mission? To defend the eccentric first lady of East Peck, Lavinia Peck-Foster (Kristin Chenoweth), known for her flamboyant outfits, large hats and hairless cat, and who suddenly finds herself accused of the bizarre murder of her beloved husband. As Josh continues to settle into his makeshift office behind a taxidermy shop while working with his quirky team of local misfits, he suspects that winning his second big case this time should be easy (especially when his client is the town favorite), but is it? The cast also includes Jayma Mays, Sherri Shepherd, Steven Boyer and Amanda Payton. |

much to my surprise found this recording on my DVR tonight.

Show didn't miss af beat. Funny start.

Re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
I'll have to watch this. I'm amazed it came back for a second season.
As someone who watched Season 1 a while ago and only watched The Staircase recently, I had some severe Deja Vu. I kept turning to my daughter, who I was watching The Staircase with and asking "why does this seem so familiar?". Only later did it hit me. |
Re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Great start to the season.

Re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
Did Kristin Chenoweth have plastic surgery or is it just aging or a combo of both?
She was cute. |
Re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
She’s annoying to me the way that woman violinist is annoying to some people.

I love that they keep giving Anne a ridiculous condition every episode. "Random dog-level hearing" |

Re: Trial & Error (NBC) -- S: Lithgow, Chenoweth, D'Agosto, Mays, Shepherd
So I caught up on the last 4 episodes today. Episodes 5 & 6, for some reason, weren't recorded by my DVR, so I watched those on demand.
I'm enjoying the season and like how they handled the twist in the middle of the season, although I saw it coming. |
