Pollyanna has an ...unusual look. She first came to my attention in a dark, dark, dark low-budget Horror film called "The Woman". She portrays a feral woman who's discovered and then held captive by an fairly average family; the father begins to torture and abuse her and the further he sinks the further the family devolves. She also had a showy role as a wild-eyed mute assassin in "Hap and Leonard".

Nope!

And I watched both Mad Men and Breaking Bad on Netflix.

I guess it would be Family Guy.

Pollyanna was much better in Hap & Leonard. It is just me or did it seem like the casting call for extras simply said much be really tall. Looked like the ZABA (Zombie Apocalypse Basketball Association) was surrounding them. And then we got a lame Thunderdome proving ground. Which proved what exactly?

Unlike so many others I have been enjoying this season overall. But that episode just plain sucked. Even what could have been some great scene with Daryl (at the highway, with Carol) were just a waste of time other than setting up what it likely to be a key turning point down the line.

This episode was so bland we can't even get any good conversation going from it.

I think Pollyanna McIntosh has a strange attractiveness about her. Not here, but she looks like a Bond villain. One podcast I listen to described her as "poor-man's Milla Jovovich".

Oh don't let the negative nannies fool you. Almost always most of the comments in these threads are negative. Yet...somehow they still must watch.

I think most of us are honest about being that. I readily admit I still watch the show despite it not being as great as it was (The same thing is happening with me regarding Homeland is the show has probably jumped the shark but I still watch it). Like most great shows that hit the cliff, you stick with them most of the time because you are still invested in the characters and want to see it through to the series finale.

Spoiler from comic but just a thought based on it.

Spoiler:
Jadis almost seems like a perfect Alpha. From watching how they are quiet and their communication, it almost seems like a origin story. I know it's not but the whole time I was watching it all I thought of was the Whisperers.

I see what you are getting at. But, I thought the showrunners, and Kirkman himself have said that these "Garbage Pail Kids" were created for the show and have no basis in the comics. I suppose they could be lying, they have done that before, but I would think they would want to keep what you mentioned in their back pocket to actually use on the show, rather than try to adapt it to another group.

Yeah, I doubt it as well as that would limit the reveal when they are introduced is just one reason. Just that it almost seems like they took some ideas of the group. Especially when Jadis took Rick to the top to see their territory.

Interesting.

Though I think that particular... thing... is best played out the way it was in the comics, unless they're going to do a surprise reveal where
Spoiler:
once Alpha's dead skin mask comes off and it's Jadis.

It could possibly work if they do the time jump after Negan is defeated, where Jadis and Beta would have ebough time to build a new group and an army of ten thousand walkers.

Interesting edition of the spinoff

The Walking Dead: Beyond Thunderdome

The leader of the new group kind of reminded me of Tilda Swinton.

I missed the Smokey and the Bandit Easter egg in the episode the first time I watched the episode.
When Daryl and Richard head out on the road.

Rick is starting to pissing me off again as A leader.Making A deal with A group he hardly knows anything about.

Season is kind of dragging on.Hope some battles with the Saviors start soon.

According to the Talking Dead, the girl that took Gabriel was the one we saw a few episodes ago when we saw a boot of a person spying on the group. Good job not having any indication of that in the actual show.

The indication was Gabriel explaining to Rick how he came to be there.

I thought it was pretty well explained when the ugly girl talked about them watching the boat, and then taking what they wanted from the people that actually got to the boat.

Was I the only one who noticed what appeared to be a Helipad in the middle of Junk City? (visible on the left when Rick was taking in the scenery atop trash mountain)

That's my guess as well. I see no reason to introduce a random gang of people that isn't from the comics after having the ocean people that have guns. I bet they help Rick and down the line go their way and as she put it, evolve.

Wow, some actual levity in an ep. Never thought I would see that again. Had some actual fun for once. Good episode too...
