I thought this was a pretty good return, definitely enjoyed hearing all of the movie references from Mack like "ok, this is how The Lawnmower Man ends," or "she didn't go Maximum Overdrive on us now," or "watch all of the terminator movies, even salvation?!"

I'm not sure I understood the epilogue scene. What was going when with Senator Nadeer's brother Vijay when he was dumped into the ocean? Looked like he was turning into some kind of cocoon.

That was pretty cold blooded what she did.

I believe the implication is that he isn't dead, notwithstanding the hole in his chest.

I'm guessing that Vijay as he was is dead, but his body is mutating into another form.

Yeah, it is either he has some sort of healing powers by going back in the cocoon or he isn't dead and is mutating into another form. I didn't like his powers were sort of a ripoff of YoYo. His powers did look cooler in terms of effects, though.

Being in the cocoon for seven months it feels like it should not be that easy to die. His sister is COLD! If she would do that there is no reasoning with her.

I could be wrong, but seems this Vijay's ability is rapid adaptability to incoming threats. He was just reacting to the attacks when Watchdog mercs were trying to kill him, and had no clue what was going on or where those moves came from. He did not react at all on the chopper because he never imagined his sister would actually kill him.

At the end of the episode he was encased in another teregenesis cocoon, possibly to cope with the impending death from gun shot.

Personally I just figure the cocoon was his body finding a way to recover. He'll be back when he has healed. Since there was only one gunshot, they could be soon. Unlike Yo-Yo his ability seem to go much farther than just being able to move quickly. Maybe more like the Flash which would explain the ability to heal.

The guy who plays the Senator's brother was in Halt and Catch Fire, too. I'm not a fan. Was happy when he was shot and disappointed that he'll be coming back.

ITA. But sometimes I do wonder if they realize TV watchers will see the twist coming based on who they cast.

I thought the episode was OK except the moronic plot of Vijay escaping with his sister on a helicopter that has the guy who kept trying to kill him even after the senator had said to not kill him.

Yeah I don't think his ability was strictly speed as it was made clear he was doing moves he had no clue how to do previously. So it was more of an advanced fighting ability or threat prevention along with increased speed but nowhere near as fast as Yo-Yo as she can move faster than the eye could see. It was clear they could see him doing the moves but it was much faster than is normally humanly possible.
