Porsha Williams — model, singer and star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Ricky Williams — Heisman Trophy winner for the University of Texas, 2015 College Football Hall of Fame inductee and ESPN sports analyst who was a running back for the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens
Carnie Wilson — singer, television host and member of pop music group Wilson Phillips.
------------------------
Do they really need two Real Housewives in this? I mean, I guess it's better than 'Vine celebrities', but still...
So the breakdown (going by their *main* claims to fame):
5 Athletes
4 TV Show Hosts/Personalities
3 Musicians
3 Reality Stars
1 Comedian
That's really athlete-heavy, which perhaps makes sense for Arnold... but sports stars tend to be a bit boring on this show (except for Rodman).

As long as Chael Sonnen shows up in character he won't be boring. You and everyone else may end up hating him with a passion... but he won't be boring.

Only thing lower on celebrity lists than WNBA might be being famous for being a housewife. Oh maybe a Vine or YouTube personality can't leave them out..

If you want to contend that no woman basketball player could possibly be considered a star, I suppose you could make that argument. But she's about as accomplished as any woman in any team sport could be in America.

Just took me a few minutes just to remember what my city's WNBA team name is (Chicago Sky). I wouldn't be able to recognize a player on the spot if you paid me $1 million.

Still no airdate yet. If it doesn't air this summer, probably won't air until next season.

No exact date yet, but NBC says it's expected to air January 2017 after The Voice's fall season wraps.
Also, they want to air it after the elections.
The Celebrity Apprentice – now called The New Celebrity Apprentice and starring former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger instead of aspiring politician Donald Trump – is not on the fall schedule because of an “embarrassment of riches,” NBC Entertainment Group chairman Bob Greenblatt said this morning. Instead, it’s being held for use “between The Voice cycles that could use a big engine like this,” he told reporters on a phone news conference to walk them through the network’s primetime plans for the 2016-17 TV season.
“Apprentice performed well when we had it in January in the past, and the time period on Monday is heated up for reality fans by The Voice,” he elaborated. The network’s reality guru Paul Telegdy said the hold-off also allows NBC to market the show’s new season – and new star – during football season. Additionally, but not mentioned during the phone news conference, a January return would keep the reality competition series out of Donald Trump White House Race season.

I wonder how big of a role Arnold will have on the show or he just shows up to introduce a task and then is gone for most of the show.

Isn't that basically how much Trump did on the show? He would introduce the task and then come back again for the final result and boardroom. Will Arnold's kids be on the show like Trump's?

Premieres January 2, 2017

1st promo with Arnold.
Show is now called "The New Celebrity Apprentice"
Thread title needs an update.
I have to admit, I'm kind of intrigued to see how Arnold handles this show. Hated the previous version with Trump.

The New Celebrity Apprentice (2017, Season 8, Schwarzenegger)

I'm not big on making new threads. I didn't see a thread anywhere.
I really appreciate Schwarzenegger's work (in and out of movies). Zero interest in the old episodes. But looking forward to this.
Premier is tonight (Monday the 2nd). I'll watch it for Arnie and also like that they got Buffett and some other good people in there.

Mildly curious because of Schwarzenegger but I'm normally not a fan of reality shows and never watched The Apprentice much. Might tune in to the first episode to see how it is.

It's a contractual/legal thing and Mark Burnett productions has no choice but continue to give him an EP credit since Trump co-created the show. But, Trump is no longer involved with the show.
I'll check it out simply because I'm a fan of Arnold, but I was never a fan of the Trump version.
Apparently it's only a 7 episode season. It's filler until the Voice returns in late February.

It looks like each week is 2 hours, so it's probably really more like 14 episodes all together.

I just hope the Apprentice brand has been damaged with enough people that this tanks in the ratings.
I don't blame you when you're in a big town full of sports and activities, but the Storm have been relatively big in Seattle since the Sonics left, and they're great role models for young female athletes. (And yes, I know I'm responding to old comments.)
It's not like she's just a player, or even just a Champion, or just a four-timr Gold Medal Olympian, or "just " an MVP and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, though she is all those things. She was one of the three women who were sent to the three biggest markets at the founding of the WNBA to be the centerpiece of their franchise and the face of the new league.
If you want to contend that no woman basketball player could possibly be considered a star, I suppose you could make that argument. But she's about as accomplished as any woman in any team sport could be in America.
