Fun finale. I agree that Scott and Stonebridge we're essentially worthless, but great to see them again. After a lackluster start, the show really grew on me. Looking forward to next season.

Season 6 currently filming in SE Asia. They shot the first 2 episodes in Malaysia.
Roxanne McKee however doesn’t look like she’s in it.
That’s Jamie Bamber from Battlestar Galactica. He’s a new regular. The woman is Yasmin Kay Allen.

Official Press Release. Looks like the entire season will be shot in Malaysia:
Filming has begun in Malaysia on the seventh series of Sky original production Strike Back
Strike Back returns for seventh series, from Left Bank Pictures
• New 10-part series to premiere on Sky One, NOW TV and Cinemax
• Entire series to be filmed on location in Malaysia
• Jamie Bamber to star as new section 20 boss
Filming has begun on the seventh series of high-action Sky original production STRIKE BACK in Malaysia.
Section 20’s Warren Brown (Thomas ‘Mac’ McAllister), Daniel MacPherson (Samuel Wyatt), and Alin Sumarwata (Gracie Novin) return with new boss Colonel Alexander Coltrane, played by Jamie Bamber, and disavowed Russian agent Katrina Zarkova played by Yasemin Allen.
When a Russian jet crashes in the South China Sea, Section 20 are sent in to investigate. They find themselves both coming into conflict and being forced to work alongside rogue Russian operative Katrina Zarkova, who is on the trail of the same mystery as them.
The group are assigned a new Commanding Officer – the veteran Coltrane – and pursue the stolen contents of the Russian jet across South East Asia. They will work alongside the Malaysian police to shut down a Triad gang in Kuala Lumpur, uncover a corrupt plot by a wealthy Indian businesswoman who is running for Parliament, and plunge into the jungles of the Golden Triangle in Myanmar. All whilst facing off against mercenary drug agents and terrifying warlords, as they uncover a conspiracy that threatens to push the world to the brink of global conflict.
They’ll need to work alongside their new Russian ally Katrina, but her loyalties and goals might not be what they first appear… What if the one person you can’t trust is the person you need to survive?
Jack Lothian, writer and executive producer, said “We’re delighted to be back with Sky and Cinemax for a new season of Strike Back; we have fantastic actors and crew that work incredibly hard to provide big screen action for the small screen, with all the drama, high stakes, and mayhem that involves, and I can’t wait for the audience to see the twists and turns we’ve got lined up. “
Strike Back is a co-production between Sky and Cinemax and will be produced by Left Bank Pictures. The series was commissioned and will be executive produced by Cameron Roach, Sky’s drama commissioning editor.
Left Bank Pictures executive producers are Andy Harries, Sharon Hughff, Jack Lothian and Richard Burrell.
The Producers are Nuala O’Leary, Lawrence Cochran and Andy Morgan with Directors Bill Eagles, Paul Wilmshurst and Steve Shill.
Strike Back will return to Sky One in early 2019.

Of the new four lead characters from last season, I thought Gracie was the only one that was interesting so I'm glad she's back.

I binged the season on a free Cinemax week and enjoyed it. It's not the same as the original, but it's still a fun ride. I wasn't expecting the original guys to make a cameo, so that was awesome when it happened. I'll probably watch it again sometime.

Finally got around to watching the complete season. It took me a few episodes to warm up to the new crew (and/or for them to find their rhythm) but by the second half I happily charged into watching the rest of the season. I did think the ninth episode was so strong it sort of upstaged the finale. Looking forward to more.

FYI, the BD for season 5 is out this week. I believe it's going for roughly $23.99 at Amazon and Best Buy should you be inclined to purchase it.

I don't have Cinemax currently, so I picked up the blu for Season 5 on sale during Black Friday.
Not terrible, but I didn't think much of it. The two lead guys weren't any good. The women were better. Stonebridge and Scott's role were wasted, but their presence elevated the episode immediately. The action was still good.
Also, I can't believe that the actor playing Mac is the same guy from Luther.

Mission first, apologize later. A brand new season of Strike Back begins January 25 on Cinemax.

Wow, premiering in January. Very cool. I was expecting later.
I'm betting that Cinemax will use Spring/Summer to launch Warrior.

Was not a fan of the last season. It felt like a huge slog to get through, and even not expecting the new cast members to be as great as Stonebridge and Scott, I still didn't really like any of them. Not sure if I will be back for next season or not.
