Perhaps it has, to me it's been like this for a while. Just think of the hospital, terminus, the governor part 2, etc.

If anybody is going there, really only the very first short season is immune. Same is true for pretty much every series that ramps everything up for a big finale (season or mid-season).

Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Yeah, she certainly had to nail some pretty tough and impressive stunts (running, apparently).

Her response is just lol worthy. A zombie could sleepwalk through her role, one of the easiest acting gigs imaginable. She's also had a year to lose weight but sounds like she has zero plans to make any effort in doing so. Producers should've just killed her worthless character off when the actress got pregnant, it's not like she's a good actress and she clearly is too stupid to understand that gaining 40 pounds doesn't make logical sense for her character.

But doesn't it seem at least a little off to be going on about the extra weight on Tara when other characters are carrying even more extra weight in a world where they would be lucky to be eating enough to keep their weight at healthy levels?

Very true.

If you list a synopsis of what happened in the first season for someone who started watching in season 3 they would be flabbergasted to find out that was only a 6 episode season and not at least 12 or even 16.

I have been pretty bored with eps post Head bashing but for some reason this ep was actually pretty engaging. I liked that Tara lightened up the mood a bit.

Plus. -IF-...she hit the spine that would paralyze the Walker's body even though the head would still "live".

Whether actors or characters lose or gain weight in these types of shows is ludicrous. Even on LOST Hugo seemed to gain pounds. Probably why the writers added the pallet of food as a joke.

No shit! I hate on the show a lot, but complaining about an actors weight not matching their environment:

For me (more than not would totally agree with you) it is all about just how much they try to make us buy into a fictional world. In TWD terms that comes down to how often they go on about the importance of finding food while at the same time having guys like Eugene still lumbering around in extreme obesity years after food has supposedly become scarce.

When movies/shows don't spend that much time on that stuff, neither do I. Same goes for the whole "must be a head shot" to "kill" thing. They are the ones that stressed it, not the fans.

Eugene is pretty far from "extreme obesity."

Yes. Not all actors are going to go the 'Christian Bale' route for their roles, nor should they.

...and falling a foot or two onto an air mattress. Celebs have the money to lose baby weight right away so she has no excuse, not that it's right to be so nasty & make rude comments about her.

People will complain over TV shows regardless. I remember back when The Sopranos aired. Every week there'd be bitching on the forums about there not being enough action, filler episodes, etc. Same with Lost. Although I agree they should stop dedicating entire episodes to secondary plots, the show is still better than most.

Yep. It was a major plot point last season that Alexandria was low on food. And in this very episode Tara and Heath were bitching about not being able to find anything while scavenging. Heck, even the Governor, errr I mean Negan, made a wise crack about the overweight woman watching the food. Yet viewers are somehow cold, senseless trolls for noticing how a mediocre actress and uninteresting character had actually managed to put on weight during the walker apocalypse.

Screw that. Get on a treadmill, Tara.

Got to disagree with you there. I don't blame the actress or actor (in the case of Eugene). I blame the people in charge of casting these actors in the first place.

Don't cast obese actors and actresses, and certainly don't cast people that are going to get bigger over the course of the series when the in world you want us to buy into where everybody should losing weight, or at worst, staying the same.

I don't know if I saw this in the thread, but JDM confirmed on Stern this week that he'll be back for Season 8.

Heard that as well. While people may find Negan "hammy" , JDM seems like a class act all the way. That was a really good interview. Really down to earth and grateful for finding success at an age most people have given up .

No, you're stupid -ptth-

Sure she looks fine for the typical American, say if you saw her shopping at Walmart or eating at McDonald's, she'd fit right in. But on a show where people are starving and practicing cannibalism to survive she and several of her co-stars totally look out of place.

Yep. No one says they should be going Christian Bale for their roles, but they have to look somewhat thin in this universe - and at the very least not have actually gained weight. Tara and a few other characters need to lose weight for their role. It has nothing to do with body-shaming... it's role-preparation shaming. And I'd still bang Tara hard.
