I still like the show very much, but it IS getting too 'busy'. The best scenes were between Alex and Kara this past week...but I understand how they feel the need for a villain with big fight sequences every week, although I don't think this series needs that stuff in EVERY episode. 'Supergirl' has some very good actors...I wish the showrunners trusted them enough to just let them actually act from time to time.

Again, I suspect most fans have no problem with there being a lesbian story line. It just has to be done well and so far it's been so bad it's a joke. The same goes for when they do a poorly done hetero story line like the Kara and Jimmy story line last season.

when you keep using punching to try to solve a problem like the Parasite, you sort of deserve to die.

Alex's arc doesn't bother me, though it's pretty clear the character wasn't conceived as a lesbian when Supergirl started. Some of the writing for it has been ham-handed, however.
Introducing Jimmy as Guardian is cool, I simply would have started that particular character development differently. Maybe Jimmy gets a rush from playing hero after temporarily getting hit with X-Kryptonite. That would have been a better beginning to Jimmy's hero dreams than a sudden impulse to don the Guardian armor.
It does give Wynn and James something to do with their characters besides being background fodder.

Given that the US has just elected a Vice-President who believes that homosexuals should be forced to "pray away the gay," if every producer in Hollywood starts having characters come out, just so they can deliver messages about acceptance to their younger viewers then that is okay with me.

Why does the Parasite that infected the Scientist give a fuck about Climate Change?

Now compare the Alex storyline to Lance's on Arrow. While Lance becoming an alcoholic again is being handled with an after school vibe it at least makes sense. Here is a guy who we know has been an alcoholic before. He had one daughter die, found out she wasn't dead, then she died again, then she wasn't dead again, and now his other daughter died and can't be saved. It makes sense he would be drinking again.

Yeah this Jimmy superhero thing sux, but other than that I like it is taking chances with lesbian Alex. You don't really see that in shows like this thatnare on regular tv...

don't care for the lesbian or Jimmy Olsen subplots.
I'm close to dropping this.

The lesbian subplot is so badly handled and seems to be there just for the sole purpose of giving Alex a reason to have scenes...

Now that the show has several different superheroes running around, they had to come up with something for Alex. Alex should be spying on Cadmus and looking for her dad.

I got a "Grey's Anatomy" vibe from the Lesbian story line... I wonder why?

But seriously.... Not sure what people are crying about. The "I'm a Lesbian smack down" was handled realistically. Shit happens. It's starting to feel like a "Walking Dead" thread in here. People bitching about characters being fleshed out a bit.

No. People seem to be complaining about how badly executed/handled it is and the fact that it's only thrown in there to give a reason to give Alex some screen time. I have no problem with fleshing characters out or randomly making characters gay just because; but the way it's being done and the why it's being down are just dragging the show down. At this point Alex should just be taken off-screen saying she's hunting for Cadmus to find her father or something because it's clear she's serving zero purpose to the plot.
