Episode 4 of 10
FX renewed this for a 7th season yesterday.
Looks like there will be no plot descriptions for each episode the entire season. FX is being ultra secretive on the show plots.

I record and then watch on Friday night (drinking a few beers and fast forwarding through the commercials). I'm enjoying this season.

I wonder who's gonna play Bates' and Gaga's roles as the "real" characters rather than the actors in the reenactment.

I have a feeling that the "twist" everyone is promising in episode 6 will address that. I initially thought that this type of narrative mechanic would eliminate most of the suspense of the show but that would probably be way to simple.
As for the episode, scary and crazy. I'm really enjoying this season.

Ummm, maybe I'm misunderstanding what you typed... but Bates and Gaga are witches from the 16th century. Why would they have a "real" character to discuss the events?

Bates and Gaga are actors apart of the "dramatic reenactment" portraying witches. Maybe said witches wiil appear in current time?

What don't you get? All the stuff with Cuba, Paulson, Bates, Gaga is part of a "dramatic re-enactment". It says that at the beginning of each episode when it transitions to those scenes. Therefor, everyone NOT within the interviews are actors within the documentary re-enactments. Bates and Gaga are NOT the ACTUAL witches. They are portraying them. Hence, the real witches can show up in the "interview world".

So is the reanactment being filmed within the actual house and locations themselves? Or are they using a fake house and different locations? Things could get interesting if they'd used the actual house.
Maybe the producers found the actual witches and got them to appear as themselves in the reanactments?

Anyway... I've been kind of bored with the season so far. I fell asleep during last night's episode. I am curious to see where it goes though. Also, the short episodes, and the fact that the season is only 10 episodes long really makes it not big thing to get through.

I assume they're using the actual house so that a plot twist can happen soon. If the production of the reenactment isn't involved, it's a waste of Lily Rabe and Cheyenne Jackson (the interviewer).

I find it funny that MTV reported that American Horror Story has shown the most gruesome deaths to date although the deaths are part of the reenactment and AHS hasn't shown any actual characters' deaths yet.

I have a hard time getting over the fact that I'd be like "fuck this" and be off of that property in fifteen minutes. Same with the Murder House and Hotel.

It's getting more and more unbelievable this family would stay in the house.
Kathy Bates was once considered a great actress in Hollywood. Those days are long behind her. Her tenure on AHS has been dreadful from an acting standpoint.

Really? I think she playing the intimidating Irish woman really well. Here stuff as a 'mom' in Hotel was really moving (her best).
Poor Zelda Rubinstein-guy getting his intestines pulled out.
Really looking forward to how they pivot the plot in episode 5 or 6. Maybe they're going to end the interviews, and we find out that the "real" characters are still dealing with the property and ghosts.

Yeah, until I read this post for some reason I had separated GaGa and Bates from the actors. To me, they ARE now WERE the actual supernatural characters.
