That was a pretty dreadful ep, though there was at least a little forward progress in the main arc at the very end.
The writing does not seem as rapid/whipsmart as it was in the first season.
The 'accent' B story - especially when done by Stamos, Lautner, Lourd - was really, really hard to sit through. Just painful and not funny.
Emma Roberts is bitchy comedy gold, and that is keeping me around.

I don't know what's going to doom this show more: the precipitous drop in quality from season ome to season two, or the scheduling nightmare it became.

You couple that with the utterly insane scheduling choices by Fox (just postpone the premiere until November, for goodnesd sake!) and this has rather immediately gone from being good to merely nothing save for purest of contemptible ridiculousness.
I'm really starting to think someone just needs to clunk Ryan Murphy and company over their heads to be awoken back to the real world/return themselves to reality. Obviously the assorted creative staff behind the scenes has gotten so completely bloated of a head/unabashedly full of themselves, owing to the passionate love their work had largely been received with up until of late that they've suddenly begun thinking along such lines as, "Hey, any idea spewing out of our heads must be sheer genius!" alongside the sorts of, "Well, if the audience loved this, that, and this premise/plot device so very much, just dare to imagine how belovedly received it'll be when we take that same underlying, basic sorts of ideas and then multiplied them full steam ahead by a thousand thousand times?!? ... House of Murphy Productions: FTW - I'm telling you guys, all too soon enough heralded as sheer. Geniusness!!!!!"

I can't believe they killed off The Twink so soon. He will never get his Pulitzer Prize for the Chanel fan fiction of Scissored to Death/Scissored to Life!! lol

I thought his story line would last at least a few eps. It looked the most ripe for Channel rage at his actions vs the other new recruits.
as for the show over all, dialog wise is still pretty good as far as the girls just being mean to everyone. Yet the over all story arc is pretty weak. I'm not expecting huge character arcs etc but nothing really has happened in any of the eps.
Plus it's like the show runners are not putting in much effort to make the kills comically bad as they did the in the first season. Where is the poor guy going up and down the ladder? The person getting ran over with a mower?
I'm guessing it's a budget issue? Being this season is 90% the killer stabs a person in a green hallway and then just runs off. It's like Jack stuck on the submarine in Lost level of same o, same o. Right down to the green walls.

It's crazy to think that this season is only half over. It feels like it should be wrapping up soon. Looks like it will be able to finish just before Christmas unless Fox schedules any holiday programming on Tuesdays.

This show has now become a major chore to watch. I'm not sure I'll even bother with the rest of this season. I've come to realize I don't want to watch scenes with Kirstie Alley at all.

Totally forgot about this thread from Tuesday night. Judging by the light activity in this forum, doesn't seem like anyone noticed. I noticed that even though this season is super short, interest has died out almost completely.

I watched this week's episode and felt pretty lost. I think I might have missed the previous one, but I'm not even sure I want to go back and check. This season is definitely far weaker than last season.

Re: Scream Queens (FOX) -- Season 2 Thread -- 9/20/16
Thinking back to the first season, it too really fell apart when they focused on the supposed story line involving the Red Devil serial killer(s). The best parts focused on the sorority girls and frat boys trying to hook up with each other in between kills. With season 2 barely having any of sexual hijinks and the Green Meanie story being even more lame and convoluted than the Red Devil, it's basically been a waste of time.
But there was that great line where Chanel spoke the truth in regards to having a the body of a tween boy, but once the clothes are off, she does look feminine.

Re: Scream Queens (FOX) -- Season 2 Thread -- 9/20/16
Yeppers, this season is incredibly weak and lame. Then, they kill off the far and away best character on the show, Chad, still quite early on. This show was always cheesy, but of course, yet they've embraced it faaaaaaar too much and gone drastically overboard with the cheese factor.
The Green Meany is just so very nonsensical and utterly ridiculous as primary antagonists go. It's crazily apparent they were desperate to force a second go-round of the Red Devil, and yet it didn't work and has never worked. They should've done something completely different for S2 - even this hospital angle is ridiculous and unworkable as a narrative. God, even the storyline behind the Dean ending up in New Guinea was just stupid in a bad way, much like the very worst of some fan fiction gone incredibly wrong.
I mean, a prime example of this? Why on Earth they brought Lea Michele back, and just how they went about doing so - utterly unnecessary, totally nonsensical, and deprives the show rather than adding anything positive to it. Because yeah, but of course, a totally looney tunes serial killer so totally just gets transferred to a medical, non-primarily psychiatric facility with absolutely *ZERO* real security; oh, and one that just so happens to be owned and operated by a former target of said serial killer, whilst also employing several of her other prior targets. Because yep, that just makes perfect sense to me!
Yet even all that could be overlooked as mere Hollywood entertainment if reintroducing said serial killer substantially aided and added to the overall storyline for season 2... except for the fact that it doesn't. Like, at all... in any way, shape, or form! Just the opposite, the character has been crudely crammed into the plotline this year, as they appear rather desperate to find some use for her in some way or another. There still hasn't really been any positive|additive plot thread that relies on Michele's character thus far, and the season is now nearly over already! So... you take and throw a cog into the works, and that cog itself never belonged/fit into the narrative this year to begin with. Truly, Hester herself is the story of Scream Queens Season 2 reduced in a nutshell, if ever there was one! All of this, yet they somehow find a way to kill off Chad Bradwell in the still early goings on - *boggle*
This series went from being something I craved and so very greatly enjoyed, furthermore being quite thrilled that, despite the long odds seemingly working against it, it'd managed to get itself picked up for a second season - now having become something I hope and pray gets put out of its sorry state of misery in the outright rejection of any third effort this forthcoming year.

Not that anyone cares, but I officially have bailed on this series during the 'blood drive' ep.
Nowhere close to the wit/humor of S01, and I found myself in S02 typically cringing at the awfulness instead of enjoying what I'm watching.
I hope the rest of the season pans out for those who stick around....

Not likely. Seems recently each new episode is out to out do the previous one when it comes to complete suckage. The most recent episode even tried to renew the amount of sex related content but still ended up worse than every episode that came before it. The whole hairball thing was just plain dumb and I can't believe that actor came back given that was that is what they were going to do with the character.

Re: Scream Queens (FOX) -- Season 2 Thread -- 9/20/16
I will take back a slight bit of my hate for this season, if it turns out to be the AHS style reveal it looks to be: Rather than an institute to cure and heal, it has become the exact opposite: One to kill, and to breed+create killers. If it should turn out Stamos is "nurtured" into embracing a psychopathic homicidal bloodlust lurking inside...? Then, add Wes + Alley's characters?
Yeah, the end payoff might not be too bad, and explains some of the worst of the cheese factor (like the serial killing hand with a mind of its own, the whole Green Meany nonsense, early reveal of killers, multiple killers (again), etc.)
Plus, Wes killed Chad Bradwell...? Uhm, k, wtf? First, way to 100% kill my/fans hopes it was all an epic Chad psych-o psych-out. Oh, like that had *nothing* to do with Dean Munsch being willed his entire fortune hours prior to death - she clearly orchestrated that, meaning she clearly is informed about Wes beforehand, meaning she probably is involved in far, far more than we know now. Might even explain Lea Michelle's ridiculous transfer to such a facility, and her being allowed to remain. Sure goes miles to explain her bringing the Channel's back together, ridiculously, if it was done expecting and knowing full well they would get knocked off together.
Oh, and since the Green Meany is dead, as Wes is dead, shouldn't that mean Lea Michele is gone, too...? Dean Munsch being an orchestrator of the orchestrations would explain munch... err, much.
My best guess? Everyone and their dog wants Chanel dead - everybody transformed to kill to kill her. In the end, she is the one who learns/becomes a bloodthirsty monster outside and in, when she develops a taste for death upon going after those who went after her. Plus, this show would never kill Emma Roberts off if they had even a prayers prayer of renewal moving forward.
And lastly...? I wonder just how much a Scientologist's soulless pit is worth, for Alley to swallow hard the lump it took to be featured alongside Brooke Shields?

I think this show is yet another example of Ryan Murphy going a bit too crazy in the second season of a show.
His early show Popular, loved the first season. But the second season got all campy and goofy... he took the subtly silly stuff from season 1 and amplified it to a level that made it less enjoyable for me.
Glee had a bit of a goofy vibe from the beginning, but there was always at least an attempt to make it somewhat grounded early on and reign in the camp. But in season 2 he cranked up the camp meter and increased the amount of eye rolling, cringe worthy moments.
And here, while season 1 of Scream Queens was definitely over-the-top, I at least found myself able to be connected to the base story. The show was set in an unrealistic outrageous fictional world, but I was able to roll with it because at the core it at least felt there was some logic and rules to that world. But this season it managed to even ignore that shaky semblance of reality to make something that felt absurd for absurd's sake.

I absolutely loved S1, and still love love love Emma Roberts character and portrayal. This season why meh from the getgo, but the biggest problem I think, and the reason why I have 6 unwatched episodes on my DVR is that I am ALL about this show leading up to Halloween, but the moment it becomes Christmas season I'm over it.

Re: Scream Queens (FOX) -- Season 2 Thread -- 9/20/16
Watched the (most likely) series finale last night. Underwhelming, though I got a huge laugh out of the Most Dangerous Game joke at the end, as well as really disgusted with Hester's line, "You can take a crack at my crack anytime. Even if I've had a huge meal and don't know what you'll encounter up there."
The Chanels are my favourite TV characters in a long time. I found season 1 to be frustratingly hit and miss. I started season 2 with high hopes that they had figured out how to do the show, but the lame characters and story elements mixed with the ridiculous number of delayed episodes killed any enthusiasm I had for the show. I didn't even realize I was watching the finale until the final minutes of the show, it certainly didn't feel like we'd arrived anywhere.
Can't imagine they'll do a third season, which I suppose is for the best because who wants to see the fucking Red Devil yet again.
Instead of a third season, just take the Chanels and put them in a different show.

Mediocre second season. I enjoyed the first season from beginning to end. This season had its moments, but I didn't care for it that much. Maybe it's because I missed the Grace character from season one (Skyler Samuels).
If it gets cancelled, it won't bother me.
