Fresno (1986)
But only the original airing. When they reran it they edited it a lot and added a laugh track which made it unwatchable.

What the hell is wrong with the people who are saying the original V doesn't hold up? It may look dated in its visual effects, but the story is timeless and the story-telling mechanisms are downright masterful.
I had high hopes for the newer version giving us a tale of sleeper cells and terrorists within, but I think I saw one episode and bailed.
By the way, my answer is V.

My father's favorite was Shogun. He loved that. He finally got me to watch it when he lent me the DVD set. I could not understand what was going on. I had to keep asking my son who was watching it with me. "Who is that guy? Isn't he the same guy as over here? No? I just could not follow it. My son liked it because he could. When I told him I didn't care for it he was disappointed. My mother agreed with me. She didn't like it saying it was too hard to follow. So my family was 2 - 2 for that series.

My favorite, although there's probably better ones, is North and South Books 1 & 2. I just loved the cast and characters, as well as the epic scope.
I also like It, 11/22/63, and V.
I still need to watch Band of Brothers and Roots. I've started Lonesome Dove a couple of, but never seem to finish it.
