I don't like that explanation, and if that's Benioff's and Weiss's explanation too then it's poor writing. It doesn't mesh with the established identity and philosophy of the Faceless Men. The inconsistency is frustrating.
Let's recap:
-You have this order of religious assassins who worship The Many Faced God, the god of Death. The assassination contracts are essentially a sacrifice or offer to their God. They are trained to perform these assassinations quickly and quietly and to make these assassinations look like accidents.
-Arya decides that this gig isn't really for her. She doesn't want to be a Faceless Man. She just wants to learn their skills in her quest for revenge. This betrayal doesn't sit well with the Faceless Men, so they send one of their assassins after her. First, how is Arya so careless? Why doesn't she use a new face until she's at least outside of Braavos?
This assassin easily finds her, stabs her repeatedly with a 5 inch blade to her stomach and she jumps into some filthy sewer canal. Frankly this alone should have killed her, those are serious wounds. But she manages to find her way to the actress she saved and she just patches her up.
-The assassin tracks her down and they have this embarrassing chase sequence. Not only was it poorly shot, but you've got this assassin with no disguise running around holding a knife...that seems to go against all their training. I love how evasive Arya is with her stab wounds to the abdomen.
-Arya then sneaks into the House of Black & White with the Waif's face, tells Jaqen that the debt to the Many Faced God is paid, and leaves (not hobbling or limping at all, I might add). Jaqen just stands there with an "OK, I guess" look. I find it extremely hard to believe these explanations that this was all Jaqen's plan and part of the training. It's such a weak and lazy explanation.

Tommen has no spine. He is a Windsock. Turning in whatever direction the wind happens to be blowing.

If this was the Other forum I would say that Tommen is just controlled by the pussy but that might not be appropriate in this forum...Ah fuck it, we're all adult here and know how the world works.

Upon reflection after last night:
-Since the Brotherhood without Banners made L.S.H. and they didn't even hint at the character's presence last night, I don't see it happening.
-Hound and Bronn get all of the great dialogue.
-I think Margery either wants total vengeance on the Faith Militant and is willing to align with Cersei , or she's using them to help her eliminate Cersei. Either way, I don't see it ending well for her or Tommen (remember the witch's prophecy).
-Dany's return looked kind of dumb. The way she entered one would think she was looking for the ladies' room more than anything else.
-Will next week's ep.9 be another case like other semi-final episodes in even numbered seasons (i.e. all of the action is focused on that one story with no deviations)? Also, is Neil Marshall the director?

I think the battle will be most of the focused of this next episode, but they may sneak in a scene or two of something else before it's over. However, i'm perfectly fine with it being the whole episode. It is being directed by Miguel Sapochnik who did "Hardhome." The Season Finale will probably wrap up Dany and King's Landing story lines and i'm hoping we get one more White Walker scene before it's over.

Not necessarily. The trailer I posted only had scenes from the Jon vs. Ramsay battle, but I guess they could squeeze other settings in there.

Funny thing is no one is acknowledging that Arya's arc may end the same way in the books more or less.

[QUOTE=Osiris3657;12825520The price is always high or dear, but within the means of the person if they are willing to make the sacrifice. The cost of their services depends on the prominence and security of the target.[/QUOTE]
i seem to recall something about a third of your fortune. whether it is a penny or a million as the price for an assassination.

I can't believe no one has mentioned that absolutely pointless scene with Tyrion Lannister telling jokes to the translator. That should have been left on the cutting room floor, it was useless padding.
I really have to wonder if GOT's main producers were handling this episode. Everything felt like it was second-rate GOT.

They actually wrote this episode. I think it was a follow-up to his goodbye to Varys, who was his only friend in Essos. Tyrion is an alcoholic who has been exiled from his home, and he is desperately trying to reach out and build connections with people in this strange land. Just because a scene doesn't move the plot forward, doesn't mean it's pointless. I thought it was a funny, sad, and touching scene.

I thought it started off terribly, but liked it when Greyworm actually got something in.

There is that. Never ignore the simplest answer.
