Re: Game of Thrones (S6E06) -- "Blood of My Blood" -- 5/29/16

I'm not going to complain if they split the final season into two parts if it allows for more content, a more satisfying conclusion, and a higher-quality product (D&D have said that the schedule is exhausting and that they barely can get the seasons in the can before immediately beginning work on the next).

It's unlikely that any delay would allow for greater input from Martin, so that's no great benefit.

It will be a win-win situation for HBO, as usual. Keeps its flagship premium title running a bit longer & allows them to squeeze customers for an extra DVD or BD set (unless the customers are holding out for the complete set).

As long as they don't throw in several Dorne episodes just to kill time, it's all good.

Nice to hear Jamie reference Bronn. Hopefully, he'll make a return appearance.

Look at the titles of almost every single episode. They are not exactly highly thought out ideas.

The Hound Killing the Mountain
to be one of the climactic scenes.

I just read that he may return. I hope Bron kills The Mountain.

Also, if you don't have time for a full show, on youtube there is a guy called "emergency Awesome" who does weekly GoT videos that are short and filled with info. He avoids spoilers and explains things like changes from the books, etc.

I've always thought the opposite - that Arya would never fully go down that path because of her desire for revenge.

yeah Arya is suppose to be no one but even that play showed she still has deep emotions about her past (I mean when her fake father was fake killed she looked like she hated that cheering crowd)

Bump that to sixth or seventh.

It's become almost comical at this point.

Regarding The Mountain...

We never did see what happenned to Robb Stark's head after the Red Wedding.

Did they save him for Dr. Frankenstein? I forget his name. Qyrus? I don't remember.

If so, that's going to look really weird. Stark's head would be miniature compared to the dude's regular head.

Right, I do t see how she can ever be a faceless one since she can't give up her past, and the audience doesn't want her to, because all we want is for her to get vengeance too. I guess her blind training will allow her to fight in the dark, though, which is why she turned out the lights.

I don't see HBO letting Thrones go away after two more seasons. They will probably develop some spin-off series or cover the history before Thrones. I would love to see more about the Mad King so bring it on.

HBO hasn't been able to produce a big hit since GOT so that would really hurt them to lose their flagship series.

I was hoping Westworld could be the next big hit for HBO. The production and writing issues are troubling though. However, the talent is there as well as the content to make a great series.

Oh sure, they may look at expanding the universe, but that show wouldn't be Game of Thrones. And they won't push GoT past its natural conclusion. If HBO has been consistent in one thing (at least since Arli$$ went off the air at last), it's not over-extending series' runs just because a show is popular. There's a word for when a pay cable network keeps all their shows running for years and years too long : Showtime.

No, HBO doesn't ever do that sort of thing. AMC, sure. But HBO instead tends to give their successful show developers something else to do, something they want to do instead.

They should do Tuf Voyaging with Conleth Hill (Varys) as Tuf.

A video of Bran's visions from this episode slowed down and looped

That it has clips of the Mad King saying "burn them all!" and Jaime then killing him makes me wonder if we will get more of that scene via Bran later in the season

I want to see Bronn meet Bran.

"Bronn, this is Bran. Bran, this is Bronn."

Then they could both meet Brienne.

Sam's dad sure was a dick, but nobody actually expected that meeting to go well, did we?
