Most Violent TV show ?

What is the most Violent TV show ever ?

Let's not count animated shows because its a different type of violence

SPOILERS TAGS please if referring to any specifics for any show

I can't think of anything more violent than Banshee

Spoiler:
I am only up to half way season 2, the episode where the indian girl is hit in the head with an axe, i can't believe they showed that scene in flashback

Re: Most Violent TV show ?

Criminal Minds has some pretty bad episodes. More physiological violence vs. straight up graphic violence though.

When politicians refer to the show when debating over the use of torture in real life, that's when you know your show has made a real impact on society.

When the dean of West Point visits the show's crew to tell them to stop showing torture scenes (because soldiers are copying the torture tactics), that's when you know the show is violent.

Spartacus

Lots of spears being thrust through torsos and heads. And an amazing amount of slo-mo blood spatter.

Strike Back has some crazy violence as well, but maybe not to the level of Banshee.

Game of Thrones

Spoiler:
Robb's pregnant wife getting repeating stabbed in the belly was little too much for me. Also The Mountain crushing Oberyn's head was pretty graphic.

Millennium was pretty harsh, especially for a 90s show.

Banshee was the first show that came to mind for me. Oz and Hannibal are great mentions as well.

Re: Most Violent TV show ?

I absolutely love the Spartacus series but i just find the violence in so stylised that the impact is lessened

The violence in Banshee is like what you would see in a really bad neighbourhood during a heatwave on a friday night

It's gotta be Spartacus. Over the top stuff.

*shivers* just thinking about that scene. Hannibal didn't show a lot of violence, but it had some seriously creepy imagery.
