I am only hate watching this.

Spoiler:
I guess nobody yet knows that everyone is infected and you will turn if you die. Having a suicide pill isn't great if you turn after you die

Seth, the oldest son, had the right idea about clearing the fence. The group from the Walking Dead could have learned something about clearing the fences every day when they were at that prison.

Strand wanted to stay on the boat and Salazar was going to watch him because he doesn't trust Strand.

Anyway, I really dislike most of the characters especially the father. He met this family for 1 night and wants to tell this family how to run things and disapproves when he sees his son learning to take out walkers. The group is completely useless (and dangerous by causing hundreds to die by releasing the walkers from the arena last season) and Strand saves them and they are ungrateful and wander around like they are on a picnic.
I want them all to die. Swap out Seth and the little boy and Strand and maybe Salazar and kill off everyone else. please.

The Last Ship is another show that does post-apocalyptic story lines on a boat and enemies and character motivation/actions so much better and more believable.

I said I would give this half a season to make a decision whether to continue or bail - I'm not sure I can make it that long. It's gonna be tough. Rename the show to Fear the Boring Dead.

I guess we're starting to see a similarity between this and TWD - the group goes some place for safety and shit gets all fucked up... all because junkie was looking for drugs. Are they going to keep having him try to score drugs? I'm tired of it already and it will take focus away from the main plot of the show.

I'm glad the kid stayed back. Strand said that kids are dead weight - which is also true for story lines.

In TWD they never mention anything about other countries and what's happening there. At least with this we know that Canada also got infected and Mexico was a thought.

Having been disappointed by last week's episode, I thought this one was a major improvement. There were still some issues, including what felt like a rushed ending in the final ten minutes.

I don't understand how things got so out of hand so fast that they already bombed a bunch of major cities. Isn't this only like a couple months into the outbreak? This show was supposed to be about the beginning, and yet the only thing really different about this show then TWD is that the zombies aren't as decomposed.

They didn't really think things through that much for this show and they basically lied about the direction the show would take.

We know that zombies are attracted to sound. We have seen them mass around a creaking wind wheel. Why don't the zombies turn around and walk back into the see after hear the crashing ways. I guess this is the one time sound doesn't matter because of reasons. Why aren't zombies bloated from water after being in the ocean for weeks. Remember the bloated well zombie from season 1 or 2? These zombies exit the water like they have only been in the water for a hour.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S2E02) -- "We All Fall Down" -- 4/17/16

I thought for sure that the producers and writers would get a clue based on fan reaction to the first season. I thought for sure that they'd work on fixing the problems with that season.

I was wrong.

They're continuing down that path without making characters less annoying. The Walking Dead has gone downhill, and this show, aside from a few apocalypse building moments in the first season, has been a huge disappointment at best. It hasn't even delivered on it's promise (to show how the Zombie Apocalypse when down - they skipped a hell of a lot of details and went the vauge, time jumping route instead).

And I still have a problem with the science of the show. They made it a point to scientifically explain how the zombies remained, "Alive," but since then have given the Walkers supernatural survival abilities (their adrenal glands are working overtime pushing their bodies to work, despite the upper brain function being gone - but that wouldn't stop muscles from atrophying or organs from shutting down from lack of food and water, or dying withing a few minutes from a lack of OXYGEN if they were face down in the water).

The whole Walking Dead world has been handled poorly. It's like the writers and producers don't care if stuff makes no sense (either the science or characters' behavior); if it moves their plot ideas forward they go with it.

This is what bothers me the most with this spinoff... they had the opportunity to really dig into the early stages of the outbreak and the stages of how society collapses, all under a totally unique setting. Instead we get a few episodes of that, then they went to the suburban military quarantine that could be almost anywhere... and now a boat. They had so many interesting and weird stories they could have told there and instead we got the most boring people in the city.

It also bugs me that this is happening before even Rick wakes up in the first episode of TWD, yet society is already at about a TWD Season 3 place as far as how people are acting and how fucked the infrastructure already is. One timeline has this episode pegged as being Day 18 of the Outbreak. According to most estimates, Rick woke from his coma somewhere between 30 and 60 days after the 'Day 0' outbreak start. It's like the creators could have told a unique story here, but were just determined to jump ahead to the 'Walking Dead stuff'.

Yeah, they jumped ship on the Los Angeles location too quickly, skipped forward in time too quickly, failed to really show how society broke down, and ultimately failed to deliver the show they promised.

The worst part is by doing that they also failed to deliver a good show...

The whole thing is such a wasted opportunity but making the characters annoying and idiots again is just insane.

I didn't think they were even a month into the outbreak. We'll get a better idea when the Flight 462 folk show up. I thought the West Coast got bombed because the outbreak had just started and the bombing was a measure to prevent the infection from spreading.

I couldn't catch what Strand was saying on the phone, even though I replayed it four times. I got some of it, but not the longer statement he made. Can someone post it, spoilered I guess?

Sooner than later

I liked this episode but still would consider dropping the series if I don't get sold on it before the mid-season break. I did like that they teased that there is likely more to Strand than they have revealed so far.

I don't think they have the budget or the scope to pull that off. They may have had that intention, but it would be tough to show that through the adventures of one average-ish family, and there would be the question if the larger audience really wanted that (as opposed to personal stories). It seems like they're going in a direction that allows for smaller, more episodic stories (that are easier to write and less expensive to pull off) - a simpler, more "traditional" direction. If that's the case, I think the show is really missing a "break-out" character (someone dynamic that catches attention) and by making the main characters a family it sort of limits the relationship possibilities to guest stars they meet along the way (and, thus, pretty much have to get rid of).
