Why does Patty have to leave? I liked them together.

Better offer on a new pilot.

But we still have Iris!

So Jay Garrick from Earth 1 will eventually turn into another Professor Zoom?

Pretty cool episode, although Wally was still a dick and Patty left. She has more chemistry with Barry in one finger than Iris will ever will. It was also cool to see Cisco expand the use of his powers. I wonder if they are going to go full power with him like in the comic books.

I'm intrigued at Wells endgame. We know he'll kill, like the old Wells did. I wonder if he is simply a bad guy no matter what Earth he's in.

Hunter Zolomon showing up is obviously big news. That name means a lot for comic book readers when Wally was the Flash. Don't google his name if you want to remain completely unspoiled.

However, I think it could be a misdirection or red herring.

I did like Patty on the show a great deal but the cast is getting very big for a light superhero show. It doesn't bother me if she never returns for more than a short run.

I gasped with the Hunter Solomon reveal. Wonder how long they'll let that linger?

Patty got a better send off this week. Gonna miss her.

Shantel VanSanten's goodbye from her Instagram

The beginning and end of a characters story is never in my hands, I can only care for their journey along the way. I am so sad to see Patty leave @cwtheflash but I am beyond grateful for the experience. As a comic book fan I was geeking out over the opportunity to play a character in this world! I loved working with the cast and crew and getting to breathe life into such a fun character! Thanks to for your support and love! I'm going to miss my metahuman hunting in Central City!! #PSpivsout #CCPDforlife #theflash #thankyou

It was a better sendoff, but still a messy breakup. Patty wanted to be with Barry and didn't care that he was the Flash and he basically said no go away. At least they didn't write her as an idiot and she knew he was the Flash even though he made the silly denials. Patty's not dead, so if Shantel's next job doesn't work out, they could write Patty back in the future.

It was cool seeing Reverse-Flash again. I'm sure this isn't the end for him.

Why do writers fuck up superhero relationships so much?

Really enjoyed the Flash phasing through the wall with a super speed punch. For some reason that was the highlight for me. Great episode all around. Went by real fast.

I think Patty comes back. Some how 'Zoom' will know she is connected to Flash and therefore no reason to keep her distance.
The whole Hunter Zolomon thing was cool but I just hope they stick with it. We all know how TV is sometimes.
I want to punch Wally in the face. Stop being a dick, kid.

Am I the only one who thought the whole thing was a mess? Eddie killed himself, we see Wells/Thawn fade out of existence so this stuff with the time bubble is just technobabble.

What really sucks is losing Patty means more Iris again. This last episode had more of her than a few of the other current season episodes combined.

From all the complaints, it's like she's the Laural of this show

It an odd way to explain it. When Eddie died it really should have changed everything to where it never happened which then it was never changed................I like time travel, yet the easiest stories are where people work within time because anything they do in the past will always be a part of what happened. If someone went missing one could likely go back and bring them to the future and save them yet if they died or were found....maybe not go much unless it was some set up to make it look like it.

Yep, technobabble that really does not flow well with what they did. Which can be said for most time travel stories, yet still fun.

I like it when Wally's and Iris' scenes are together. It means I have to fast forward less.

Re: The Flash (S2E11) -- "The Reverse-Flash Returns" -- 1/26/16

The time travel on this show is borderline Austin Powers. Reverse-Flash was erased from existence yet he still has to exist to follow his original path which leads to that moment of erasure. If not, the timeline starts to breakdown. Doesn't really make sense (in a fictional, time travel sense). The writers are having their Grandfather-Paradox cake and eating it too.

But he couldn't have truly been erased as if he never existed or none of the events in the first season would have happened. Barry's mother would still be alive, as would the real Harrison Wells. It makes sense from the linear timeline of Eobard Thawne's life.

Thawne's motivations seemed a little thin to me, and the whole "I had to be your opposite" speech was just dumb.

Pretty much. It's really damn hard to not make a paradox when using time travel in a story. I tried to make sense of it in my head, but decided to just go with the flow and not think on it too much.

The comics have the benefit of showing us Reverse Flash's full-blown psychosis in the future and his undying hatred for Barry Allen. This show has greatly simplified his motivations and hasn't done a great job making Thawne look like Barry's mortal foe.

The time-travel explanation by Wells did reek of hand-waving away the inherently paradoxical problems. I'll give them a pass on explaining everything, quantum time tunneling isn't a solved problem until the 23rd Century.

There was big ratings news for this episode. Last night was the first time that the Flash was the highest-rated 8 P.M. show in its history, beating out all its competitors at the other broadcast networks. The show is carrying the CW at this point.
