I don't get why people are flipping out about the airing order.

This isn't unusual at all. These are standalone episodes and the broadcast order likely doesn't matter a lot, and even the second one aired dropped a "Welcome back" bit to make it a better fit.

Because a few do do anything they can want to come across as the experts on something.

Seems based on the article above, this whole thing should just be considered a new story that run over 4 hours.

Apparently Carter would be interested in reviving Millenium.
That would be something. The third season kind of faltered but the first two seasons were as good as anything on TV.

As much as I loved that show (well at least S1 and S2) I think it would be even harder to bring back Frank Black and Peter Watts and explain how they still would be connected to the show that aired last in 1999.

Agreed, it's only important if the change in order brings some kind of timeline issue.

I think Lance Henriksen's age would be a problem. He's 75 years old. Not exactly a draw for the 18-49 demographic.

But he's making a big push on his Facebook and Twitter pages to get fans to push for it.

Carter said in the article that he has an idea on how to bring it back, but it's not his choice. FOX owns the rights to the show.

That, and wasn't the whole premise of Millennium a build up to the year 2000? Which ended up having it's conclusion on X-Files after Millennium was canceled.

Loved Millennium S1 & S2, but the time for that has passed.

Exactly. But if Lance gets his way they'll make up some reason for the characters to still be relevant.

Yeah, the first season of Millennium was a pretty good serial killer procedural, and I really loved the conspiracy stuff involving the Millennium Group in the second season. I thought all of the religious conspiracy stuff was pretty interesting and provided a good companion to the X-Files aliens-based shenanigans.

Then came the third season and it just became X-Files lite.

It might be interesting to bring the Millennium Group onto The X-Files (Skinner becomes a member? Mulder and Scully attempt to infiltrate it?), and maybe bring in a grown-up Jordan Black. (Maybe recast? I don't know if Brittany Tiplady is still acting.)

I have completely forgotten that I watched every episode of this Millennium Show. It was completely wiped from my memory.

Wow

I liked Millennium when it was airing, but I don't think I've watched it since even though I own the DVDs.

Man, Millennium had a terrrrrrrrrrrible series finale in that episode of The X-Files. I would hope that if they brought it back there were actually a cogent plan for how the series would continue.

I enjoyed this episode more than the premier. I felt like a good blend of the original series tone, with more modern production values and direction.

For what it's worth, the wife - who had never before scene an episode - enjoyed the premier but was totally turned off by this before the inteo credits rolled. So take that for what it's worth when considering episode production/broadcast order.

Yeah, that was really fucking stupid.

Though the background on that episode is really interesting. Apparently, Stephen King and George Romero were going to collaborate on a Night of the Living Dead/zombie-themed X-Files episode, but it didn't happen.

When it was decided that they were going to make a "Millennium" episode, they couldn't come up with a story for Frank Black and the Millennium Group so they ended up putting zombies in that episode.

But it ended with the first official Mulder and Scully kiss, making the shippers happy, so it wasn't all bad.
