Just read the note above about Ben Barnes being cast (I know it's old news). Really liked him in Westworld - good addition!

The Punisher has apparently wrapped principal photography according to this source: http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/04/...ed-production/
They have been filming since last October. I'm sure this summer will be used for post production.
I'm guessing we can expect a late Fall/Winter release for it.

While speaking with THR about her work on the third season of FX's Fargo, director Dearbhla Walsh was asked if shooting in Canada was her first time directing television in North America. Walsh replied that it wasn't as she had previously directed an episode of The Punisher and seemingly revealed when that series would debut.
One other time that hasn't been aired yet, which was an episode for the new Marvel series The Punisher, which I did just before Christmas, but it's not airing until November. I directed that in New York and edited in L.A., but this was my first directing experience in lovely Canada.
As this isn't official, we should probably take Walsh's statement with a grain of salt, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it were true.

Couldn't quite tell the release date (obviously they did that on purpose), but it looks like sometime in October. Psyched!

Don't know if anyone watches any of the videos on the Emergency Awesome channel on youtube. The guy on there seems pretty sure it's going to premiere on November 10th, which is the birthdate of the Marine Corps and the day before Veteran's Day, since Frank is a Marine.

Looks badass. Can't wait. Hopefully it's non-stop Frank Castle carnage.
Judging by the trailer, it looks like they're going to show Frank's origin story in flashbacks and then probably pick things up after the events of Daredevil season 2. Deborah Ann Woll is a series regular in this as Karen. I read that she filmed this series and The Defenders simultaneously.

I'm holding out faith this doesn't suck. With the exception of the two Daredevil seasons, I've thought every Marvel series has sucked. Jessica Jones was six episodes of plot dragged out for thirteen episodes with annoying characters. Luke Cage started good but dragged even worse and had no good story after the midway point. Iron Fist was just boring and awful and The Defenders somehow managed to be less entertaining than every CW DC crossover so far.

Even though Netflix never announced a date, it could get delayed from their original intended release date: http://www.darkhorizons.com/netflix-may-delay-punisher-series-launch/

Jessica Jones was actually my favorite, with Daredevil season 2 redeemed by the Punisher. Luke Cage did die midway through, but that first half was fantastic.
