A Very Murray Christmas with Bill Murray

I looked all over and can't find a discussion on DVD Talk about this. I couldn't believe there's no thread.

Anyway this was very good. Really captures a wintery, festive, fun mood. Definitely a film to curl up with a glass of scotch and enjoy.

P.S. It's on Netflix

There's some talk about this in the Netflix thread under the Streaming Talk forum.

Does he beat his wife in it? Like, with a candy cane or reindeer hoof or something?

Good lord. The forum is so fractured I don't even know where to go anymore.

FWIW, I think this is the proper forum for it too. Marvel's Daredevil and Jessica Jones, both Netflix series, are discussed here.

I'm a pretty big over all Grinch for anything Christmas but I still watched it. I found it strangely entertaining with it's mock reality vibe. Kind of a depressing all alone holiday vibe or at least drunken stuck in a bar due to a blizzard vibe.. Yet all the while it still has kind of a pro-holiday vibe at the same time. It strikes an interesting tone I've not seen before in holiday specials.

Bill Murray "You haven't quit drinking yet have you?"
Paul Shaffer "Sh..should I?"
Bill Murray "Good man"

I'm never sure where to find the discussions for Netflix stuff but their series are similar to episodic tv so I can understand why those discussions would be here.

Anyway, the show itself wasn't as funny as I had hoped. He had a nice mix of guests and they all sounded great. Even Miley showed that she doesn't have to be outrageous to be entertaining.

I liked it. When it ended I was surprised because the 55 minutes flew by.
Wanted it to be longer.
Loved the version of Baby It's cold Outside.

The joke about Monuments Men was funny and Clooney was silly and made me laugh
each time he popped out from behind a tree.

Really enjoyed it. Just the right mix of cameos, coziness, sarcasm and good cheer. I love that they do a Pogues song. I enjoyed Phoenix's song and David Johansen as a sleazy looking bartender.

George Clooney popping out from behind a tree repeatedly was indeed funny.

I liked it. I guess if you can't get Shane McGowan, David Johansen is pretty much the best choice to sing Fairytale of New York.

And I really liked the simple fact of Bill Murray and David Johansen doing a Christmas special together. Too bad they didn't get Carol Kane as well!

Enoyed this more this year than last, agree with the above, and can see it becoming an annual viewing.

Well it's annual viewing for me. It gets funnier every time I watch it. Murray is so deadpan in some moments that I didn't even notice the joke until this third viewing. It's cozy and brilliant.
