Re: The Walking Dead (S6E05) -- "Now" -- 11/8/15

Probably the weakest episode of the season so far (they all can't be great). My main problem with this episode is it focused on too many Alexandrian's who I honestly don't give a shit about. I get what they were trying to do in showing that these people have been so secluded they have NO idea what is lurking out there. But they should have focused on Deanna & Jesse's family only as they are the only we have gotten to know and really care about. When you have people bitching about not wanting to live and you honestly don't know who they are, its hard to really care.

And I actually think Glen is dead now as Maggie's baby is a metaphor for him still being with us. In saying that, I wish they wouldn't have any women getting pregnant as it stagnates the show when they have to lag the baby around.

I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.
Interesting. I forgot about that angle. Look forward to next week for the answers.

Total filler episode. This show has been boring for a while now, why don't they just follow the frikkin comic book storyline, it's to much better than this crap!

And as such, a great episode.

(But otherwise, total filler. Probably only going to get more filler till the mid-season finale.)

They keep pounding us over the head with this. It seems like every episode since they've gone to Alexandria, they make it a point to show/tell the viewer and the people of Alexandria that they're not prepared for life outside the walls.
I figured by now one of the Alexandrians would've said "ok, Rick - we get it... please STFU already!"

Definitely a step down from last week, and not happy they're dragging the whole Glenn thing out. I can't wait to see the explanation for that.

Would that be easy to do with a solid wall not using loud guns to attract more? At the prison fence they just stabbed through it.

Yep, and it was annoying the first time.

I'll admit, it actually ended up with a decent payoff, but it would be silly to do the same thing with Glenn.

Saw a report floating around that a character from the comics has just been cast...

Spoiler:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has landed the roll of Negan.

Edit to add: I see that this is being talked about in the Season 6 thread. Sorry.

I was thinking the same thing. Other than that, yeah, this was mostly filler IMO.

The walking dead does a good job at essentially doing down their make up.

Whoa... mind blown. She was AMAZING as the AHS maid... I still think about her work... from time to time. She's fine in TWD, but was so over the top hot in AHS it's not even comparable.

I'm surprised apocalypse survivors don't put the same care into their looks as supernatural beings.

Step it up, ladies!

I'm surprised there wasn't more "blame Rick!" sentiment from the Alexandrians. It was his silly idea to herd the zombies out of the pit. That idea was way too complicated from the start, and now some folks have had their entrails eaten.

Rick's actual plan didn't actually occur, though. They were doing a dry run and the truck happened to drop off the cliff. Had they not been there Alexandria would have been overrun by Wolves and Walkers.

Well, the Wolves might have been less of an issue if Rick and a bunch of the other heavy hitters weren't off at the quarry. But then the full contents of the quarry might be surrounding Alexandria.

It's also possible the timing of the Wolves attack wasn't a coincidence. Could be watching from a safe distance, or being signaled by an insider.
