Re: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW) -- Series Thread
Last episode I watched was when Rebecca had her friend throw a rock at her glass door after the whole texting mishap.
It's sometimes uncomfortable to watch, but surprisingly it's quite funny. Rebecca is such a weirdo.

Finished the season yesterday.
Very offbeat, but fun show. I know this show doesn't appeal to most here since it's a music-comedy-drama. And sometimes it's very uncomfortable to watch.
Loved the finale when Josh and Rebecca finally hooked up and then she basically confessed that she was stalking him (when she said she moved to West Covina because of him) and then the look on his face.
Hope they bring back Valentina in season 2. She was a good foil for Rebecca.

I'm interested to see where this goes in year two.
I read this was originally marketed to Showtime as a half hour comedy but when they passed, CW took it on as an hour show. Then they got a nearly full season order--and now a second season.
So bottom line, what started out as a good, short-term idea has now got legs to go very long term...but they have to flesh this out to make sure the storyline can last the test of time.
I thought nearing the end of the season they were going to leave it where in season two it was Rebecca being the crazy ex of the other guy...but they've brought it back to Josh, so who knows.
I do have hopes they get the kinks worked out though. It's a lot of fun--and always best when Rebecca's being a bit psycho. They need to work that in more often.

I started watching the first season on Netflix with the intent to catch up by the premiere. I never did. I only watched 3 or 4 episodes. The show isn't bad. I enjoyed it overall. I just can't see myself wanting to watch this week to week.

I liked it, but I admit it doesn't really have that "hook" factor to make you want to watch it week to week. It is creative and well written. This genre probably doesn't appeal to most male viewers either.

I've been watching this season, but it seems like the concept's limitations are catching up with it. It just really hasn't worked as well for me this season.
Tonight's show may have been the last for me. On the one hand, there were two terrific songs in the first 20 minutes, but then the show got rid of one of it's better characters (permanently, according to the producers). Rebecca has become nearly unbearable, and the side characters aren't that interesting to me. And, frankly, I'm getting a little tired of all the little lessons The CW shows feel it's necessary to teach me.

Episode from Friday really changes the dynamic of the show now.
Greg left for Atlanta and isn't coming back. Rebecca and Josh broke up and it doesn't look like there is even a remote chance they will get back together. After the pregnancy scare, he now sees that she's really fucking crazy.
The whole Crazy Ex-Girlfriend dynamic isn't there. Now Rebecca is just flat out crazy. And now they brought back Valentina? Ugh.
Don't know how many follow both shows, but did anyone notice that Petra from Jane the Virgin guest starred in Friday's episode?

Last night's episode was probably one of the strangest and most uncomfortable episodes to watch. I actually cringed at some of the attempts at humor.
Rebecca and Paula's fight was ridiculous. The Girl Group stuff was odd.
And Trent was just fucking weird when he attempted to bond with Josh and his friends.
at Rebecca taking his virginity.

These are starting to load up on my DVR. I still enjoy the show, but as others noted, it's losing its luster. I love the creativity, but the episodes seem VERY uneven. Sometimes the writing and storyline are firing on all cylinders, sometimes it's a complete waste of time. I know the show was originally piloted as a half hour...I still think that might have been better for this one.

I just started watching this on Netflix for a musicals-themed challenge, and thought it was a Netflix series. I had no idea it had been on TV.
I'm a few episodes in and will probably continue. The lead character is annoying, but appealing, and I'm interested in seeing how it progresses.

Re: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW) -- Series Thread
I know absolutely no one here must watch this and it may be the lowest rated show on network TV, but it kind of sucks that they stopped running the final season for over a month. They should have just ran it straight through and finished it up. It does come back this week finally.
