Re: Red Oaks (Amazon Prime) - Series Thread - from Greg Jacobs, Soderbergh, Green
I was looking for something new to watch and remembered that the guys from my favorite podcast - Never Not Funny - raved about this show. (Richard Kind and Paul Reiser were guests on it last season.) So I burned though it over the past few days. I really enjoyed it. The acting was good and the time period felt real. There wasn't very much winking to the audience that I can remember.
I'm looking forward to new episodes in a few months.
That episode felt very out of place, but it did make me laugh. The kid's Richard Kind impression was great.

Cool beans. Looking forward to it. Although the first season was pretty well contained and I would have been satisfied with it even if that's all they ever did.

I'm luckily on vacation when this comes out! I'll have to resubscribe so I can watch this and check out Goliath. Red Oaks is the best thing on Prime Video!

I made it through 8 episodes over the weekend. Still a highly enjoyable show.

Enjoyed the second season just as much as the first. Only episode that was meh for me was the first one in Paris but as soon as they got back to the country club with all of the wackos, the fun began.

Great show, great feel. 2Nd was as good as the first. Felt like the empire strikes back. Natural progressions for everyone. A bit heavy on the male dominance. Maybe it's a 80s thing? Loved the wheeler arch.

Just binged both seasons and I loved it. Great show with a great cast and a genuineness to it that is rare.
Funny story, I have a mild case of prosopagnosia (facial blindness) and I had no clue that was Paul Reiser until watched Whiplash this weekend. I was like hey, that's the guy from Red Oaks...and then I saw the credits, d'oh! I also had no idea that was Jennifer Grey until I finished, but she changed her face, so that doesn't count.

I finished this this week. It was another good season, but I wonder if they will make a 3rd season. I feel like everything ended pretty perfectly that they don't really need to make a 3rd season.

Just picked up for a third and final season.
Official prediction: Paul Reiser gets pardoned, David marries his daughter & becomes president of his hedge fund and the club shuts down. Oh, and Wheeler remains awesome.

I watched the pilot during the original screening period, the second episode when the first season came out, and all the other episodes during the last comedy challenge. Really good show.

I'm glad to see that they are giving them one more season. I wouldn't have been too sad if the series had ended after the first or second season, because I felt that those two seasons ended perfectly. I hope they have a great ending for season three too.

I am almost done with season 2 and it is just OK to me. There just aren't enough memorable or likable characters. Nash, the tennis pro, is awful, Seth Meyers brother is a clone of Ben Stiiler in Dodgeball, and Skye is pretentious and annoying. I was a teenager in the 80's and I really want to like it more, but it just doesn't have an authentic 80's vibe, other than some of the clothing. Freaks And Geeks was so much better in that regard.

Looks like I'll be renewing my prime membership on Oct. 20th. Can't wait for this. It's my all-time favorite streaming series.

Stellar. One can only hope for a complete series blu-ray release.

Yea. I love this show so much. And for me to say that about anything that has Oliver Cooper in it is saying something.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the third and final season is going to be released on Friday. You might want to go ahead and renew those Prime memberships if you haven't already.
