Actually they do. In fact i think they said there was 7 total all creating minions to do there bidding. "The Master" is just the one that has went rogue.

One thing I didn't quite understand and didn't see mentioned yet ((so maybe I'm really idiotic here).
But the Master's transference into a new host versus the other Ancient Ones... Didn't one of the Ancients mention that the Master had/has some unique psychic ability unlike all the others, enabling his mind to be closed to the others except for when he was injured in battle?
So that tied in with my ??? regarding the GDT prologue: Is the Master the only/first of them to actually transfer his mind into another host? Are all the others basically in their original flesh then?
And, since we now know the Master *did* transfer bodies, then what the **** was the deal with the "native born soil' that he had to be hauled into New York inside? If the dude's body is buh-bye, then why the hell does his mind/consciousness need some ridiculous "native soil"? I'm assuming the Ancients are distinct from/superior to the worms themselves, and those parasites are merely an extension of their form, but that the Ancients evolved as a human-like large bodied organism that hosted/created said parasite worms.
Then again, maybe I'm trying to find far too much logic in an utterly illogical show/story/mythos.

I think the logic is that The Master can transfer his mind or "infection" into another host. The other "hosts" are all like his offspring, and he can tell them what to do. But he does not fully posses multiple hosts at one time.

No, it's still early in the series for all that. It'll get explained as the show moves along. You can read the 3 books if you like.

Since another reply mentions this is clarified much later in the books, I'll assume clarification is at least forthcoming. I'd been reading the comics as they were released up until the point when the show was announced as happening, since I'd prefer to witness this story for the first time in the visual medium of film/TV.
They just seemed to bring up... well, everything I questioned in my last post, in the season premiere without offering anything except making an already murky mess all the murkier. Mentioning the Master has unique psychic gifts among the Ancients, as an almost off-hand remark. Bringing up that the Master has and can transfer Host bodies, whilst apparently his brethren can't - and the utter irrationality of tying a physical form to "native soil" when that physical form is, apparently, forever changing and not a permanent thing.
