My GF wanted to watch this and boy is this show fucking horrible! The budget is weak and the acting is beyond horrid.
I kept hearing Austin Powers in my head: "That's a maaaaan, baby!"

I came back specifically for this one episode. I think everyone knew answers to the terribly convoluted mysteries were going to be terrible. That is what you get when a mystery that should have been solved back in season two gets stretched out over five seasons. When "Charles" was introduced, I immediately suspected his reveal was going to involve some kind of gender-bending.
CeCe is apparently from the future. That room with the hologram video playback looked re-purposed from a sci-fi show.

I remember that. But I figured out it would be true, because one of the writers favorited a tweet about a transgender theory. Marlene jerks around her viewers on social media, much like how Ryan Murphy did during Glee.
There are plot holes with Cece bring trans. A friend of mine works in the medical field with trans patients. She watches PLL and saw the trans theories months ago and said it wouldn't be believable because many don't pass well. With TV shows, liberties are always taken when it comes to various phyiscal and mental health issues.
There was a major continuity error with Toby's mom because she was shown IIRC in past season, in a flashback, in which she was alive but Ali and Toby were already teenagers and then in this finale, she is killed when Cece/Charles was a child.

And rumor is they will continue to go into Season 8 or a movie. I'm kind of done. They wrapped up what I needed and unless they explain those plot holes, no reason to continue.

I guess they did a better job of providing answers than say Lost, which decided to punt many of the major questions. Pretty Little Liars did attempt giving us answers. They should have never loaded up that many reveals in one episode. It would have felt far better to have unloaded them over three episodes.

Ok premiere and still too early to see how well the 5 years ahead jump will work. Alison looked awful with that makeup. I wonder what is up with Emily.

Poor girls. Here we go again. They just can't escape bad things happening to them.
I think the 5 year time jump might help the storytelling. The girls are now playing closer to their actual ages. But I hope they don't drag out who killed Charlotte like what they did with "A"
Yeah I guess Emily isn't as successful as the other girls. Looks like she's hiding something.
The makeup folks did a shitty job making Alison look older. She looked like a teen girl playing with her Mom's makeup kit. And those clothes.

Finally caught this last night.
Looks like the focal point of the story is finding out who killed Charlotte aka Cece.
Kind believe they're even teasing Aria and Ezra as possible suspects.
Emily has been acting really weird. I'm curious to see what's up with her.
at the preview that teased that Spencer might have a "thing" for Caleb, which is going to piss off Hanna. Oh girls and they're petty shit with exes.

Doesn't really bother me. I know some have complained about it. I actually think it helps now that the girls are adults on the show.
It's already been reported (non-officially) that next season is the last. So at least we know the show is heading towards an end game.

They probably should have done the time jump sooner, a couple of seasons ago. They had explored every possible inch of the show's original premise in a high school setting by season three.

I got up on this show last weekend and watched last night's episode. The time jump works fine here. One thing I've hated about this show is that Emily goes through some of the worst shit ever.
