in an interview, Kit Harrington said that when filming the Hardhome battle he only shot 1 min of footage a day.

This may have been covered - but was there supposed to be some significance to that undead King at the end? He wasn't the same as the one that shattered - or was he?

Could be the journey to that solution might be difficult. I honestly don't see how else they could win.

Yeah, that sounds about right for elaborate action sequences. But they did have a lot of close-up shots that were most likely done later on a soundstage. That whole segment could've been in IMAX though.

He is the boss, and no he wasn't the one that Jon killed, right after Jon killed the walker, he looked up to the hillside and saw the Night King

he looks to be the same walker as the one taking Craster's baby and creating another walker. Maybe he is the walker's equivalent of Qyburn/Maester and they have the equivalent of a white walker king to the iron throne.

The Night's King. Here's an article that offers a back story with no possible future spoilers.

Remember when Tywin was about to be killed by Tyrion, he told Tyrion that he wasn't his son. Perhaps he was telling the truth. Who is the daddy?

Book-ish speculation:
Spoiler:

The Mad King is a strong possibility. Which would make him Dani's half-brother.

Some folks believe that Dani, Tyrion, and Jon will be the three dragon riders. Jon, of course, is speculated to be the offspring of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

I definitely expect that boy to double-cross Sam/Jon at some point, based on what Sam told him about sometimes needing to do things that are very unpopular.

I think that's quite the stretch. I don't think it's any deeper than he was never truly accepted since he was a dwarf and he "killed" his mother during childbirth.

I'd actually be pretty upset if they revealed Tyrion to be of non-Lannister descent. It would lessen everything he's done / gone through for the sake of a plot twist. He can still be an important character without having a secret identity.

Hasn't Martin shut that down on multiple occasions over the past six months?

Knockout episode, with big developments with Arya, Sansa, and Tyrion/Dany, then THE BIG BATTLE. Or maybe it should be called the Big Wipeout.

Who cares about Tommen and his hunger strike, Cersei and her slurping up water (great scene, btw), heck, even Arya and her assassin training when freaking zombies are coming to kill everyone anyway?

Yeah, it made last season's battle at the wall look really foolish and pointless.

I mistakenly asked this in the wrong thread, but are the white walkers/wights vulnerable to water (too warm?) or something, or did they just not care about pursuing the boats before they left harbor? In ancient history did they cross the narrow sea (I'm assuming winter comes to all lands, not just Westeros)?

Yeah, how many zombie movies have we seen where the hordes pursue, and even though the first ones sink, the following ones use their bodies as a bridge and they get to their destination just by sheer force of numbers, but see below.

I expected freezing as well, but I thought the raising scene was really effective. Then the guy seemed like he was saying "Yeah, we could come after you, but look at us, and look at you. It's just a matter of time anyway."

Not my knowledge. I don't think Martin really makes it habit of confirming or denying fan theories and speculation.

The only fan theory that I am aware of that has been shot down is that Benjen Stark

In the end, I can see Danny (Fire) teaming up with Jon Snow (Ice) to take on the Night Walkers then perhaps marrying to unite the kingdom.

Point being, either way it goes, we can finally kinda' see an end-game forming.

There is a ton of support from fans on that (That Dany/Jon are intertwined, they either rule together and create a super baby, or that one kills the other..or.

But isn't there speculation that

Spoiler:
Snow is actually Danny's half sister? That the Mad King and Ned Stark's sister's had a kid and Ned claimed him as his own bastard so that he wouldn't be wiped out with other Targeryen's?

The most common speculation is that
Spoiler:
Jon is the son of Rhaegar -- Dany's brother -- and Lyanna (Ned's sister). Which would make Jon Dany's nephew, not her brother. And incest is how the Targaryen's roll, so no big.

Re: Game of Thrones (S5E08) -- "Hardhome" -- 5/31/15

A mega reach but...

Spoiler:
There is some speculation that the Iron Throne is made of Valyrian steel, since it was exposed to dragon fire. So her line of "breaking the wheel" refers to the throne itself, so they'll take apart the throne to combat the WW threat.
