Angel of Darkness was kind of a crap follow-up novel.

Maybe they can do more season and tell some original stories with these characters after they adapt AoD.

Just finished reading Angel of Darkness. I imagine they are having to do some serious "adaption" given how passive some of the returning characters are in that book. While present throughout most of the book, Mr. Moore (Luke Evans) would barely have anything to do in a straight adaptation.

I thought he was given a little too much air time in S1 anyway.

He's the narrator in the first book. In the second book, Stevie Taggert, the former street youth that lives with Dr Kriezler, is the narrator.

TV networks don't know what to call things anymore.
Since it was nominated for a Limited Series Emmy they are likely just calling Season 2 a "Limited Series" to try and get nominated againf. If it was moved to the Drama category it's not getting nominated in a field with Stranger Things,Big Little Lies,The Handmaids Tale,Westworld,The Crown etc etc.

I wasn't a big fan of the TV show though I do recall thinking the book was great. I also recall not being a fan of Angel of Darkness which was a big let down. I'll likely skip this.

Miraculously, season one is hitting Blu-ray in an upcoming release.

If you're one of the few that hasn't cut the cord you should check your DVR as mine didn't pick this one up to record since they changed the name of the series to "The Alienist: Angel of Darkness."
