Is Man-Thing back with Marvel now or does Lionsgate still have him?
Man, I loved that character when he was w/ the Thunderbolts.

Blade seems the most likely to me.

Since we are throwing out names I enter Goliath. All the X-Men are out and the major African American figures are already taken. They can bring in Bill Foster and tie him the Marvel universe with Ant-Man.

Ridley's new show on ABC, American Crime, which apparently none of you are watching, is fantastic. Very dark cable-like drama. It's far from female centric, watered down fluff.

I guarantee you any new Marvel show on ABC will be driven by female leads, you can take that to the bank.

To those of you who are shitting on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., have you watched any of season two?
Yes, it's not as dark as Daredevil, but
I don't see any other show doing that on network or basic cable.
In addition, the show has pretty much dropped the monster/superhero-of-the-week-procedural bullshit the first season was notorious for and follows the rest of the Whedon properties with developing and on-going storylines. It's not the strongest Whedon property (its no Buffy/Angel/Firefly), but its not the worst (Dollhouse). Season two is a much more darker and serious beast than the first season. Yeah, it still does some cringeworthy and goofy shit from time to time (Lady Sif's episode a few weeks ago), but its leaps and bounds better than the first.

I've watched every episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's gone from being terrible to mediocre. It's far from great.
Daredevil is not a good show because it's dark, it's a good show because it's well written and the people working on it seem to care about it.

That's probably the war big demographic for them to conquer, and they seem reticent to do a big female-led superhero movie, so TV would probably be an easier place to do it. Then again, they basically already did exactly that with Agent Carter.

AoS is a shitty show and Walking Dead kills off major/supporting characters all the time.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. AoS only became better when Cap 2 and, America's National Treasure, Bill Paxton were there. Season 2 is the same boring and cliche nature. It's a lot more steady than S1 but it still is a shitty show. Crap writing, cheap looking, a lot of shitty characters, crap action, and it's stupid. Very few characters are actually good. Bobbi Morse is a pleasure but I'm guessing that's more Adrianne Palicki than the writers.
Example, Fisk's centric episode in DD is better than all of AoS. Not that that means much but it's a big gap in quality for one episode vs. all of AoS.

I'm enjoying AoS more so than any other show I'm still watching.
It's actually the only show I really look forward to burning a couple of episodes off the DVR, all the others feel like an ever-growing list of chores. I hope the new show is exactly like it.

I genuinely enjoy SHIELD and not in a guilty pleasure kind of way at all, so I'm not sure what you would call objectively good here.

I still watch AoS, but there's no getting around it's a pretty bad show and it is such because it needs to be vanilla enough to be on ABC.

I like AoS. It's about as good as it can be with two crappy show-runners at the head. I'm glad they made Joss get more involved, there was a noticeable quality shift in season one.
