New DirecTV feature

Anyone notice the automatic On Demand feature for the next episode of a TV series on DirecTV? Would be cool if it supported HD

Yes. I've noticed it a couple of times--when others were watching. It's not a bad idea.

Re: New DirecTV feature

Was watching an episode of Amy Schumer's show I put on the DVR, when it ended, this thing popped up and suddenly I'm watching an SD version of the next episode.

Didn't care for it.

Re: New DirecTV feature

I gave on on their VOD a long time ago, but it always struck me as odd that most of it is not only available in SD, but cropped 4x3 SD. What year do they think it is?

Re: New DirecTV feature

I think all Comcast Universal owned channels show everything in HD on demand.

None of the CBS on demand shows are in HD.

Re: New DirecTV feature

Maybe it did not deserve a new thread but Directv added a Iheartradio app if you want to listen to the radio on your TV.

I think you need a Genie or probably a new receiver to get it.

Re: New DirecTV feature

I noticed it and logged in with my account but oddly one of my handful of stations - naturally the one I listen too the most - would not show up. Tried searching for it as well but nope.

Re: New DirecTV feature

I will double check but I don't think KNBR comes up.

Maybe it might be redundant with the Pandora app also on Directv.

Re: New DirecTV feature

What is strange is that it (the radio station) shows up in iHeart on other devices, just not in the DirecTV version.

Re: New DirecTV feature

Got a new message today on the menu.
New ESPN App on Directv brings you live sports and thousands of exclusive ESPN3 games. Learn more at
support.directv.com/mobile/4812

ESPN app is currently available on HR44 and HR54 Genie set-top boxes. The ESPN app is currently not available on Genie Mini and RVU TVs.

I don't have it yet.

Re: New DirecTV feature

Isn't ESPN going to a pay service sometime this year? Are they planning on charging for the content on ESPN 3 or what's the deal?

My genie is HR 44-500. I don't see anything n the TV App's section.

Will replays be available(also SEC Network,ACC Network .Longhorn Network games)?

They are already struggling with viewers and if that happens they will lose even more.

I know that CBS Sports has a pay College sports service(which is beyond dumb when you consider the free programming that Watch ESPN supports w/subscription).

With all these streaming tv service's becoming available,it looks like ESPN is gaining back viewers but haven't heard any official word on it.
