I don't read the comics but came across the nugget that the congresswoman character was a congressman in the comics. Someone was complaining about the gender politics for television.

Loved the episode and change of pace, aside from Rick shaving. The beard going away hurt me more than any character's death so far.

For comic readers, can someone ballpark a number, without spoilers, of approximately where the show is out of the ~135 issues? I'm debating starting to read them, and am wondering how far I'd have to go before I 'caught up'.

They arrive in Alexandria in issue #70, so that's about where the tv series is at.

For the record:
#1-6 covers the first season, more or less.
#7-12 is the Greene farm, and the second season.
#13-48 is the prison saga, and covers seasons three and the first half of season four.
#49-70 is the prison aftermath, and these events are loosely covered in the second half of season four and the first half of season five.

Depending what format you want to read the comics in, the paperbacks cover six issues each, the over-sized hardcovers have twelve issues each, and the giant paperbacks have 48 issues.

Note: I'm talking comics, but just commenting on how characters have been changed, nothing spoiler-y
They seem to really be mixing and matching the Alexandria characters. Aaron and Eric are like their comic counterparts, Jessie is from the comics but looks like she's mashed with Olivia, and the only other name from the comics I think was Nicholas, but it's to be seen if he'll match his character (he wasn't a supply runner).
As per the differences, the comics the leader was Douglas (a congressman) who has a wife named Regina and a son named Spencer, but the show is Deanna with a son named Aiden.

There are also 24 issue oversized hardcovers. Those are my preferred reading versions.

I too liked the episode. A change of pace, but I was engaged throughout. Loved Carol playing the new people as a harmless homemaker. One thing I didn't get is Carl heard a noise, which led him to explore upstairs, only to find an empty hangout room the kids use. Didn't quite make sense of that.

Carl took a magazine/book to the kids. They apologized and said they didn't know they were staying in that house. I think the kids were upstairs and the noise was them leaving. There was a rope going out the window.

Couple of things I found out about this ep on other sites.

The girl who played Enid was also in that ridiculous viral sensation Too Many Cooks.

And the zombie that Carl killed with the crowbar was Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian.

I thought it was the sound of the wind pushing the window. The apology was just for being in the room before knowing someone would be moving in.

Pretty sure the kids were up there, then left out the window before Carl got up there. Not just "wind."
